Cantiere delle Marche signs contract for the Darwin Class explorer yacht Darwin 95′ by Hydro Tec

September 27, 2011

The recently established Italian luxury yacht builder Cantiere Delle Marche is proud to announce its Darwin Class yacht range’s success. After building three Darwin 86′ yachts, the yard has signed a contract to build the fourth Darwin superyacht – the 95′ Darwin Class motor yacht – after only 11 months from the company’s birth.

Darwin 95 superyacht designed by Hydro Tec

Vasco Buonpensiere, sales and marketing director, comments:”We are incredibly satisfied  and proud of the redemption we had after the important showcase in Cannes. The  number and the quality of the contacts that came from the boat show are amazing and the  overall appreciation for the construction’s features of the Darwin Class confirmed our  belief that the yacht market is now looking for quality, contents, design and attention for  the details, in order to answer to this evolution of the ship owner’s needs. The new  nautical year has opened in the best way for Cantiere delle Marche: after less than a year  from our birth, we debut with the first Darwin Class in one of the most important boat show of the international market. More, we have already signed four contracts, in  particular the most recent, for the sale of a 95’ Darwin Class yacht”.

Darwin Class 95’yacht , designed by Hydro Tec Srl (Sergio Cutolo), maintains the Darwin family  feeling,  but it differentiates from the  86’ for many features: the interiors  – each room is  10sqm bigger -,  the crew accomodations (5 people), two Caterpillar engines C18 that give  13,5 knots speed without noise and the minimum levels of consumption. The sky lounge,  opened on the wheelhouse, is designed to satisfy the ship-owner request of steering his yacht and, at the same time, enjoying the company of his guests. The interiors will be contemporary, linear and very luminous, with a total white lower deck enriched by details in essence. The interior designers are Pierluigi Floris and Marco Veglia.

As the interiors, also the exteriors  gain in volumes  in order to enjoy the very best sensations every minute of the life aboard: all the bridges are noticeably longer and the sundeck has become about 50sqm, from 40sqm on the Darwin 86.

The new Darwin 95′ expedition yacht totally matches with the Darwin Class’ technical features as far as for the  extra-thick steel plates, the Cupro Nickel piping, the remote controlled valves, the automatic parallel device for gensets’ management, etc.

Every details in the engine room has been designed and constructed following the criteria that are usually used on high quality vessels exceeding 40 metres. The treatment systems for bilge, black and grey water are plants used also on commercial ships and could work H24.As for the 86’, the 95’ we have two rudders that could be controlled also independently to offer an incredible maneuverability in every sea condition.

This system has been tested time after time by the captain of the Darwin Class 86’ motor yacht “Vitadimare 3”, during more than 3000 miles of navigation from the day of delivery.

“The fourth closed contract and the two letters of interests we have just signed for the next years demonstrate once again that our yachts fit with the current yacht market’s needs” – comments Vasco Buonpensiere. And he adds: ”Ever since its recent foundation, Cantiere delle Marche has set out to distinguish itself in terms of the contents of its vessels, focussing on top-flight quality and unique design. Each ship, produced in only a limited number of units, guarantees sturdy, seaworthy performance, combined with low fuel consumption and the stunning volumes of the interiors”.

Koot Yachts International present KOOT 54 yacht

July 22, 2011

Tunisian yacht builder Koot Yachts International introduces their first model, the KOOT 54 yacht, which will be officially presented at the Cannes Boat Show this year. “Loft on the Sea” is the design philosophy that inspired Koot Yachts to create this 16 metre long open characterised by large interior and exterior spaces, providing a continuous flow with the sea.

Koot 54 yacht - Exterior

The Koot 54 yacht is built in Tunisia by a working team headed by Italian architect Francesco Maria Giulini. The exterior design is by Koot Design Team, with interiors designed by the architect Giulini and the hull designed by renowned naval architect Sergio Cutolo. 16.5 meters long and 4.88 meters wide, this is a boat that offers unique seamlessly environments: no internal cabins but one large lounge area directly connected to the cockpit, creating a unique space between the interior of the boat, outdoor areas and the sea. Large spaces also characterize the outdoor area: the stern is completely open to the sea and only three steps separate the cockpit from the spacious bathing platform as well as an area at the bow completely covered with teak becomes a very large and comfortable sundeck .

Mondo Marine’s Mondo45 Explorer Yacht

June 03, 2011

The state-of-the-art project of the new MONDO MARINE explorer yacht MONDO45 is in an advanced phase. The naval architecture and exterior design is by the yard in collaboration with engineer Sergio Cutolo. The MONDO45 superyacht will measure 45.05 metres in length and 8.80 metres abeam, stretching over four decks. She is a mix between a working hull, an ocean research vessel, a cruising ship and a superyacht.

AT THE HEART OF THIS NEW PROJECT, the new superyacht Mondo45 Explorer is an owner’s desire to experience the sea in any condition in full comfort. The project combines the formalism of yacht design and the iconographical elements of the explorer. An excellent quality of build is assured by the Savona yard MONDO MARINE. The yard is noted for building the 50-metre expedition yacht TRIBU’, the first explorer yacht to obtain the Green Star certification from the Registro Italiano Navale (RINA) for yachts that minimise their environmental impact thanks to the latest generation plants and systems.

THE DESIGN PHILOSOPHY is based on research into maximum functionality at sea and the desire to create a yacht that is perfect for living aboard during long voyages. The result is a mix between a working hull, an ocean research vessel, a cruising ship and a superyacht. The MONDO45 measures 45.05 metres in length – to satisfy the port regulations of yachts below 50 metres – and is 8.80 metres abeam. The hull is in steel and the structure in aluminium.

THE MODNO 45 YACHT IS BUILT OVER FOUR DECKS and is capable of navigating in all seas and types of weather. She can reach a maximum speed of 15 knots and carry 80,000 litres of fuel, offering a range of 6,000 miles – a trip around the world with only three stops.

THE ICONOGRAPHIC ELEMENTS OF THE EXPLORER, as stressed by engineer Cutolo, have been respected and revised in a modern key to support the functional aspects. The first thing that strikes you about the motor yacht MONDO45 is her exterior profile. The dynamics of the volumes, inspired by work boats, have been smoothed down to an elegant and extremely refined form with a generous use of soft surfaces and continuity with elements in stainless steel that soften the line of the windows.

THE LARGE STERN, ALMOST like a naval ship, evokes the drawbridge of a medieval castle – hostile and impenetrable when closed, made to resist the following waves, but which opens wide to offer hospitality when the boat is at anchor. There is a large stair that leads to the charms of the interior or allows the guests access to the sea.

IN THE SPATIAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR there are elements that make the project unique. Aboard there is everything you could possibly need to make an extremely comfortable trip around the world – large socialising areas, attention paid to the distribution of space and clever use of lighting aboard. All these elements define the vocation of the yacht as creating a comfortable and relaxed life aboard. MONDO45 Yacht, in fact, has a series of large sliding glass doors that give continuity to the spaces, where interior and exterior space develop in harmony without other solutions to provide continuity.

THE LARGE LOUNGE ON THE MAIN DECK expands in a fascinating way thanks to semi-circular sliding doors that, at the stern, create continuity between the interior and the exterior areas on deck and the bathing platform.

LATERALLY, THE SALOON LOOKS OUT towards the sea and infinity, thanks to two large sliding doors and two terraces, one each side, which extend the space available to guests beyond the borders of the ship.

EVEN THE DIFFERENT LEVELS are planned in a perfectly structured way thanks to the large, symmetric external stairs that are transparent, almost aerial, and flank the large semi-circular doors, giving continuity, also visual, to the various levels of the exterior decks.

THE VARIOUS DECKS are characterised in function of their destination. The main deck is the large beach, the enormous ‘beach club’ where the guests can interact, choosing to remain protected from the sun or not and with easy access to the water.

THE BRIDGE DECK is dedicated primarily to navigation. The bow zone has a comfortable divan and the stern area is dominated by the large swimming pool equipped with a current that allows you to swim even with the yacht under way.

THE FLYBRIDGE offers a comfortable lunch/dinner area protected by a large hard top, with a small pantry and a guest bathroom, essential but extremely practical.

IN THE INTERIOR of the Mondo Marine Mondo 45 M/Y, are four large cabins below decks as well as a comfortable crew area. On the main deck, in addition to the salon, we find the bow area completely dedicated to the owner, with a gym, massage room, sauna, Turkish bath, cabin and large bathroom with a dressing room.

Interior of the Mondo Marine Explorer Yacht MONDO45

THE LAYOUT OF THIS AREA is designed so that the owner can offer his guests the use of the spa area without losing his own privacy.

THE BRIDGE DECK offers a sky lounge that opens to the stern onto the large swimming pool. To the bow, there is the bridge with a captain’s cabin.

FROM A TECHNICAL POINT OF VIEW, the hull of the new Mondo 45 Explorer yacht is state of the art. It is the result of team work with the Krilov Institute of St. Petersburg which used advanced CFD methods and a series of tank tests. The result is a hull that offers a maximum speed of more than 15 knots and an extended cruising range at lower power.

STABILISATION is from two pairs of electric stabilisers that work when the yacht is at anchor. Propulsion is from twin propellers of large diameter and high performance.

The Darwin 86 ft explorer yacht by Sergio Cutolo and Cantiere delle Marche is launched

May 11, 2011

It was launched in Ancona (Eastern Italy) last Saturday, May 7, 2011, the Darwin 86′, 26 meters Explorer vessel in steel and aluminum in construction at the Cantiere delle Marche and designed by naval architect Sergio Cutolo, responsible of the Hydro Tec – Creative Naval Architect studio based in Varazze. This is the fourth launch of a yacht designed by Cutolo in only two months: before Darwin 86’ were launched Aifos, 50 meter in aluminum built by CBI Navi, Talisman C. 70 meters m/y from Proteksan Shipyard and O’Pati (former O’Rea) 39 meters fast open for Golden Yacht.

Sergio Cutolo - Darwin 86' yacht Launched

Sergio Cutolo - Darwin 86' yacht Launched

The Darwin 86’ yacht in few words
Sergio Cutolo designed the external lines and all the engineering of the just launched Darwin 86’ while architects Floris and Veglia are responsible for the interiors. This yacht designed for Cantiere delle Marche is the synthesis of different experiences over the years Sergio Cutolo has developed in the area of the small Explorer.

The hand of the designer is seen in the external lines, which, although with strong references to the proportions and style of work boats, sits in a soft but “masculine” draft where the use of sharp edges are almost abandoned. With a length of 26 meters overall and a beam of 7.43 meters the Darwin 86 has a steel hull and aluminum superstructure and is characterized by the internal volumes typical of larger boats (over 350 m2 of internal and external surfaces available for 8 guests) and a very high range (7000 miles at 10 knots). From a technical standpoint, the hull has been developed and optimized in order to ensure the achievement of high speed, relatively to the type of boat, without penalizing the performance at low speeds at which the maximum value of autonomy is realized. With two 285 kW Caterpillar engines only can reach a top speed of 11.5 knots.

The Cantiere delle Marche is currently building a second Darwin 86’ motor yacht, which will be delivered before the end of the year and there are advanced negotiations for future boats.

Fourth launch in two months
The Darwin 86′ superyacht is the fourth boat designed by Sergio Cutolo which was launched in just two months. On last February 28 was launched Aifos, the beautiful 50 meters fast all-aluminum built by CBI Navi engineered by Sergio Cutolo and designed (interiors and exteriors) by Giorgio Vafiadis. Following was launched Talisman C., spectacular 70 meters M/Y built from turkish shipyard Proteksan whose excellent performance recorded during trials derived from the accurate and precise work of Hydro Tec. A few weeks ago there was the launch of the 39 meters open yacht O’Pati (called originally O’Rea), built for Golden Yachts in Greece, which Cutolo oversaw hull lines and engineering.

To summarize: an all-aluminum fast motor yacht of 50 meters, a displacement of 70 meters in steel and aluminum, a fast 39-meter open all-aluminum and steel and aluminum explorer 86 ‘. All different projects by type and technology testimony of a technical skill and a very unusual eclecticism, making the engineering studio conducted by Cutolo one of the most active on the international market.

The Kingship Ocean SUV Explorer Yacht of 90, 116 and 150 ft

March 16, 2011

The Kingship Ocean SUV Explorer Yachts 90, 116, 150 are combination of luxury yacht and expedition yacht functionality.

Kingship’s new Ocean SUV superyacht series is a cross over between a luxury leisure yacht and an expedition yacht. The idea started from a desire to build a yacht combining safe, economical and long range expedition capabilities yet offer high level of comfort, storage and practical interior layout making them suitable for world cruising without frequent stops to restock. This unconventional design by Sergio Cutolo at Hydro Tec of Varazze, Italy is comparable with the functional characteristics of an SUV/4-wheel drive car.

The Kingship Ocean SUV Motor Yacht

Only contrary to the “gas guzzling” car, they are extremely low in fuel consumption and can go a long distance without making frequent stops for refuel. They come in 3 sizes of 90’, 116’ and 150’and their range will be 5000 nm, 7500nm, and 9500nm respectively.

The uncluttered exterior is frill free, easy to maintenance and offers passengers a high vintage point from which to view the passing scenery. All space are highly practical and even the 90’ does not compromise on providing for 10 guests and 4 crews. The 116’ has a full- beam main- deck master for maximization of space and an internal elevator connecting all decks can be added as an option upon owner’s request for the series 116’ and 150’ yachts.

Extensive exterior and dining facilities can also be found on all decks for relaxation and entertainment. With Ocean SUV, adventure doesn’t have to mean roughing it.  It is a yacht that combines luxury yacht styling with expedition yacht functionality, while minimizing maintenance requirements and keeping operating costs low.

The SUV 90’ motor yacht will be classed RINA/ MGN 280 Code category 2 while SUV 116’ and SUV148’ will both in compliance with RINA/ MCA LY-2 unlimited.
