The Yacht Club of Saint-Petersburg in Russia, has initiated a new and extensive global campaign for their recently launched Swan 60 sailing yacht Bronenosec.

Due to its continued worldwide fleet growth the Yacht Club of Saint-Petersburg selected the Swan 60 yacht model for its racing dimension.  This Nautor’s Swan model uses the latest technology, design and construction methods to provide easy handling for consistent racing performance.

The Swan 60 team is a cosmopolitan mix of some of yacht racing’s most esteemed names, dominated by Russian and Italian sailors.  Tomasso Chieffi, previously tactician aboard the Italian America’s Cup entry Azzurra, with Francesco Bruni, will play a vital role on board Bronenosec yacht for the entire season.  Chieffi will be backed up by Lorenzo Mazza also a seasoned pro on the America’s Cup circuit having raced with Alinghi and being part of the 1997 EF Language team for the Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race.

Tomasso Chieffi, Skipper, Swan 60 Bronenosec, commented on his new collaboration with the Yacht Club of Saint-Petersburg:

“2012 will be a fulfilling year for the Yacht Club of Saint-Petersburg.  The sponsorship by Gazprom has enabled us to build a clear path into elite international yacht racing with a committed and pro-active crew who will all work together with the aim of securing podium placing around the world”.

Final preparations are finishing for the first event on the regatta rostra, with April dominated by Palma Vela in Mallorca from the 18th through to the 22nd, which will also be the Yacht Club of Saint-Petersburg’s official entry into the competitive world of Swan yacht racing.

Vladimir Liubomirov, Commodore, Yacht Club of Saint-Petersburg, is keen for the presentation event during April to commence:

“We have chosen Palma Vela as the staging event to present our new Swan 60 for 2012.  With the support of our sponsor Gazprom, the Yacht Club of Saint-Petersburg team will be racing against some of the world’s most elite big  boat racers and we are delighted to have such an international team for our inaugural year on the Swan 60”.

The campaign will run from April to September culminating in the 2012 Rolex Swan Cup held biannually by Nautor’s Swan in Porto Cervo, Italy.

Fast Track Sailing to establish Yacht Club of Saint-Petersburg in Russia as a world renowned yachting hub

The international sports agency Fast Track Sailing has been chosen by the Yacht Club of Saint-Petersburg, based in Hercules Yacht Harbour in Russia, to lead global public relations as well as providing consultation on yacht racing event activation.

Based at the heart of Russian sailing, the Yacht Club of Saint-Petersburg aims to develop sailing as a sport across the nation as well as keeping traditional maritime history alive through a sustainable legacy programme with worldwide reach.

Fast Track Sailing will be utilising current properties of this unique yachting organisation such as high profile honorary members including His Majesty Constantine II, King of Greece and Goran Petersson, President of the International Sailing Federation, in addition to sourcing new opportunities for the Yacht Club to explore.

A central aim will be to firmly establish the Yacht Club of Saint-Petersburg as a world renowned yachting hub in alignment with some of the most integral clubs that form the foundations of the holy yachting fraternity.

Profiling will not be limited to 5 star facilities on-shore; it will also extend to the Yacht Club’s roster of serious yacht racing events within the Baltic that incorporates classic yachts right through to new racing builds.  2012 is set to be a special year in the Yacht Club’s development both through expansion of facilities and introduction of ground breaking race events that will definitely put this Russian Yacht Club firmly on the world map.

The 6th International exhibition of boats and yachts Moscow Boat Show will take place from March 19 through 24, 2013 in the third pavilion Crocus Expo IEC.

Next year the exposition will become even larger and will be accommodated on 40 000 sq m. The trade fair will present exclusive exhibits and the latest technological achievements. It is also planned to extend thematic sections of the show.

Annual growth of exhibition areas of the project demonstrates the intensive development of the yachting branch: the number of exhibitors and relatively the number of represented exhibits increases with each edition of the trade fair.

In spite of the fact that Moscow Boat Show 2012 was over less than a week ago, formation of the next edition exposition in 2013 is under way already. Negotiations not only with new participants but also with companies which are ready to increase scales of their expositions in 2013 are already underway.

The show had been incredibly famous for five years already not only thanks to the specialists of the market segment as well as professional sportsmen but also thanks to those who consider sailing sport to be their hobby and well cherished dream.

The organizer of the project was the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre. The show was supported by Aston Martin Moscow, Burevestnik Group logistics department and the Yachting specialized magazine.

The exposition space increased up to 30 000 sq m and was accommodated in all 4 exhibition halls of the fairgrounds! 280 Russian (Arkhangelsk, Vyborg, Kazan, Kaluga, Republic of Karelia, Moscow and Moscow region, Nizhny Novgorod, Novorossiysk, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, St. Petersburg, Sverdlovsk region, Sochi, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen and Yaroslavl region) and foreign (Denmark, Germany, Holland, Greece, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, China, Latvia, Poland, USA, Turkey, Ukraine, Finland, France, Montenegro and Croatia) companies participate in the show.

Moscow Boat Show provided the perfect platform from which to preview new products, evaluate market trends, and establish long-lasting and commercially profitable partnerships. Despite the dynamic changes taking place in Russia and the rapid growth of the yachting sector, the show continued to complement and reflect the industry’s demand and is a promotional opportunity not to be missed!

More than 400 yachts were displayed within the frames of the event including the largest boats ever exhibited in Russia – the 19-meter giant motor yacht Princess 54 as well as the Princess 50 yacht from Nord Marine and Baja speed boat from Burevestnik.

Domfinland OY unveiled a luxury project from Finnish real estate: a seaside premium class hotel in Hanko named consonant with the location Merihanko.

The trade fair was traditionally opened by a Gala Opening Ceremony. Arcady Zlotnikov, First Deputy Director Crocus Expo IEC, was the first to take the floor at the official opening ceremony. He greeted warmly exhibitors, guests and visitors of Moscow Boat Show. Nikolay Krjuchek, Deputy Chief of the State Inspection on Small size Vessels (GIMS) of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of Russia, Georguiy Shaiduko, Acting President of the Russian Yachting Federation (VFPS), Olympic champion in Atlanta and Ekaterina Grishechkina, Director of exhibition Moscow Boat Show also spoke at the ceremony.

The high-ranking guests noted dynamic development of the branch which well reasoned the intensive growth of the exposition and appearance of rather unique “gems”.

A number of business meetings and negotiations were held within the frames of the project: the exhibition was visited by a large delegation of Greek businessmen for the purpose of establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation with the Russian colleagues.

Russian Yachting Federation (VFPS) celebrated its 100 anniversary within the frames of Moscow Boat Show and arranged an exposition of future sailing sport museum (rare awards, gifts, articles from private collections, pictures and etc.) which had been collected since 1912.

Due to carefully chosen running dates the show was visited by more than 26 000 people. The majority of the visitors were of targeted audience – vessel owners and specialists of the branch.

The work at the next edition of the show is under way! The show will be held in March 2013. The overall exhibit space will comprise 40 000 sq m. The exhibition will impress with exclusive exhibits and the latest technological achievements.

Moscow Boat Show was not only an entertaining but at the same time a business promotional event. Participation in the trade fair was a unique opportunity to present a company and products to a distinctly selected targeted audience of industry specialists. They were well prepared to discuss business in the Russian market and even to close a deal on-site.

The show helped representatives of yachting business to get acquainted with their Russian colleagues and gradually improved national yachting market to a new level. It is obvious that for 5 years of its running the project has turned to a status event of the international exhibitions calendar.

The project is the result of joint efforts of the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre and the National Marine Industry Association. The event is supported by Aston Martin Moscow, Burevestnik Group logistics department and the Yachting specialized magazine. Moscow Boat Show is the largest project in Russia presenting all the best in the world of yachting.

The exhibition annually shows high level of attendance and has already proved as significant and noteworthy event in the world of yachts and boats. Every year new exhibitors join the list of participants, genuine “sharks” of yachting business, the quantity of visitors considerably increases and the exposition becomes more sated and diverse.

The best companies professionally involved into yachting and small navigation business – 180 exhibitors from 17 regions of the Russian Federation and 15 countries traditionally presented the best and the newest in the world of yachting at 2011 edition: from design and facilitation of vessels and up to cruising and training courses for beginning skippers. In 2011 the overall exhibit space comprised 18 000 sq m. More than 25 000 visitors came to the show.

This year the exposition space will increase up to 30 000 sq m and will be accommodated in 4 exhibition halls. The scale of the project confirms confident positions of its positive development. The organizers will try to arrange a genuine fiesta of water on land!

Quite a number of foreign exhibitors will participate in the show. Foreign companies show increasing interest to yachting business in Russia.
