December 18, 2012

Trinity Yachts is proud to present the delivery of motor yacht Tsumat (T057) to its repeat customer whose family has enjoyed yachting for many years. Featuring aluminium hull as well as superstructure, the 50-metre superyacht Tsumat is a breathtaking Tri-Deck custom built vessel.

Representing quintessential Trinity Yachts design, naval architecture and exterior styling and a breathtaking interior design developed by Ramon Alonso of Loguer Design and J.C. Espinosa of Espinosa, Inc. Tsumat superyacht embodies state-of-the-art engineering and yacht building technologies with interior simplicity, contrast, warmth, consistency and comfort.

Tsumat, from an ancient Mexican dialect, means “beautiful girl” or “princess.” Subtle in meaning and strong in phonetics, her very name challenged all involved in her build and design to unite the power of the ocean with the grace of a superyacht. Contemporary and comfortable, luxury yacht Tsumat sets a high standard by making use of every inch of space, resulting in an overall sense of spaciousness, warmth and refinement that is felt throughout the vessel. Her layout includes six staterooms and a tender garage — allowing for an oversized sundeck complete with workout stations and ample relaxation options — while Tsumat is intended to provide every amenity for her active owners, family and their guests.

“Tsumat is the result of our passion for architecture, translated into the world of yacht design,” says Ramon Alonso of Loguer Design. “The design team’s Latin and European influences and the use of select materials and elements historically found in Mexican architecture such as walnut lattices, solid blocks of stone and hand-stitched leather details with a high level of craftsmanship were the key ingredients in the creation of Tsumat’s interiors. Coupled with the design concept centered on comfort, attention to detail and simplicity, Tsumat blends natural and high-end materials with the latest technology thus creating functional spaces of great elegance,” he adds.

Simplicity and contrast is achieved by the consistent use of neutral tones found in open-grain walnut and dark oak veneer accents, brown and beige leathers, wool carpets, and light textured suede. Natural granite and onyx slabs as well as different marble blocks were hand selected and imported from Mexican quarries to emphasize the purity of the design. Stainless steel fixtures and hardware were selected from the finest European manufacturers. The cabinetry throughout the yacht was designed using the same wood species and stones.

A six stateroom all ensuite layout includes a full-width main deck owner’s king master suite—with wrap around forward facing windows providing 180-degree panoramic views — with an adjacent owner’s study and walk up ensuite His and Her heads, featuring custom-made orange onyx sinks with stainless steel fixtures over Thassos marble countertops with walls covered with horizontal textured stone tiles. The shared shower is made with full slabs of white Thassos marble on floors, walls and ceiling, all enclosed in frosted glass. The master suite is spacious enough for seating, ample storage and a 42” pop-up plasma TV.

Four guest staterooms — two king and two twins for children and their friends—are on the lower deck amidships. A fifth queen guest stateroom features breathtaking views from the pilothouse deck. Berths are framed in open-grain walnut and leather with waterfall edges, and flanked with hand-stitched leather wrapped nightstands. Large windows assure guests remarkable views.

The main deck is highlighted by wonderfully open space in the main and dining saloons including elegant seating for 12, a complete bar and wine cellar; a spacious galley with island bar seating for enjoying the preparation of sophisticated cuisine; and, a full beam al fresco lounge.

Oversized and comfortable sectionals and a custom made dining table with backlit onyx inserts provide a perfect setting. The interior design team’s Mexican architecture influence is reflected in the walnut wood lattice ceiling above and a terracotta fabric background is artfully emphasized through the use of indirect led lighting making the space more intimate.

Transitional areas like foyers and stairs are distinguished with chocolate tile leather floors and delicate leather covered railings. Wall and ceiling panels are upholstered in suede of contrasting colors and textures.

The warmth of the main deck flows into the sky lounge, providing a refined space for relaxation and amusement. The focal point of this spectacular space is the bar, which features a one-of-a-kind ocean inspired countertop and two amazing pieces of art from the owner’s private collection.

Tsumat yacht’s full-width skylounge also features seating for 12 to dine al fresco, the captain’s ensuite stateroom, pilot house, two sun pads, and, as noted, the fifth guest stateroom. Her sundeck is immense: hot tub, bar, dining for eight, quad chaise lounging, treadmills, weights, twin sun pads and still room for the rescue tender. Whether recreating or relaxing, Tsumat’s uppermost deck opens to the world’s oceans with unparalleled amenities and expanses.

“This is the second yacht I have designed for this particular client,” says JC Espinosa. “His request, as in the previous project, was for a clean, modern and elegant yacht. Since he always travels with family and friends, we provided large outdoor gathering spaces on all decks and an open interior plan with large spaces flowing together within the public areas,” says Espinosa. “We worked closely with Geoff van Aller of Trinity to make sure the end result would please our client. In my 25 years in the megayacht business, this is my first time working with Trinity and I must say they have delivered an outstanding yacht, Tsumat!”

With a draft of less than 8’ (<2.4m) at half load—one of Trinity Yachts marvels of superyacht engineering given a 164’ (49.9m) length — Tsumat superyacht maneuvers easily in shallow-water destinations while maintaining her transatlantic capabilities.

Simultaneously, Tsumat yacht’s 28’ (8.5m) beam creates exceptionally large living space and plentiful and comfortable room for crew: Tsumat accommodates 12 owners and guests, and 11 crew.

November 02, 2012

Motor yacht D85 is the second luxury explorer, developed by the Istanbul-based shipyard, Dauntless Yachts. With the interior design by renowned JC Espinosa, superyacht D85 incorporates all the key features which can be found on the first expedition yacht D75, currently in build with delivery in January 2013.

Dauntless D85 superyacht

In comparison to D75 yacht, numerous additional features were added to the luxury yacht D85 due to increased volume.

More space was added to all staterooms, the salon/dining enlarged as well as the galley, pilothouse, foredeck, aft deck and platform. Considerable additional space was found for the crew quarters, thereby accommodating up to four crew. A dedicated crew galley and mess with aft washer/dryer and two 15.3 cubic-foot SubZero freezers in addition to the midship/lower level laundry and freezer compartment. The engine room and equipment spaces were also enlarged accordingly, as well as a fuel capacity option of up to 5,500 gallons for even further extended range.

The superyacht D85′s deck was enlarged to accommodate up to a 20-foot tender, plus space for additional water toys and scooters.

LUXURIOUS ELEGANCE

D85 yacht boasts the megayacht quality interior designed by the renowned JC Espinosa. She features the truly stunning salon with elegant formal dining to comfortably seat a party of eight. The traditional raised panel oak interior is complemented by large windows, creating a light and airy atmosphere. The salon and dining area on the D85 is over 27-feet long, giving the feeling of a much larger yacht.

- European quality joinery and cabinetry
- Extensive use of marble, granite, mirrors and other quality decorative materials

DAUNTLESS interiors represent true megayacht quality finishing far exceeding that usually found in vessels in this size range.

GREATER INTERIOR VOLUME

The Jon Overing hull design provides significantly greater interior volume compared to typical vessels in this market sector. This allows for the creation of a completely new and unique general arrangement.

Due to this design element, the DAUNTLESS D85 yacht has an impressive four stateroom layout with ensuite baths and separate crew quarters with ensuite bath, with separate laundry facilities and provisions compartment.

These features are typically found on much larger yachts and greatly enhance the practicality and comfort of long distance cruising, especially when accompanied by a number of guests.

EXCEPTIONALLY LARGE MASTER STATEROOM

The DAUNTLESS D85 yacht has a full-beam master stateroom, several feet longer than the D75 with accompanied full-beam bathroom. Complementing the king-size bed are built-in dressers to port and couch to starboard. Forward to port is a large, double-door, cedar-lined closet. The his and hers bathroom is divided by a large glass and marble shower with separate toilets and marble topped vanities.

THREE LUXURIOUS GUEST STATEROOMS

The luxury yacht D85 has three spacious guest staterooms, a queen VIP, standard queen and a twin berth. Each stateroom has an ensuite bath and cedar-lined closet. More space has been added in all three staterooms on the D85 with the largest increase in the VIP. In addition to the obvious gains, the large VIP is ideal for chartering when two couples are seeking comparable stateroom accommodations.

LOWER LEVEL LAUNDRY

Unique to the DAUNTLESS D85 yacht is a lower level laundry facility located underneath the guest stateroom compartment with six-foot four-inch headroom. Equipped with two washers, two dryers and soaking sink, along with three 5-cubic foot freezers and dry provision storage. Forward is an auxiliary machinery space housing the water makers, pressure sets and spare storage.

AFT CREW CABIN AND LAZARETTE

The enlarged crew quarters are nicely appointed with a port crew cabin with twin-sized upper berth and queen-sized lower berth. The large ensuite bath also opens to the common space and all closets are cedar-lined. To starboard is the crew galley and mess area featuring a large stainless “country style” sink, built-in cabinetry, a cooktop, refrigerator, microwave and bar with two fixed bar stools. Further outboard is a twin-sized berth with scuba tank storage and refilling station underneath. Forward is a dedicated crew washer/dryer and two 700TFI SubZero freezers to further increase the cold stores capacity for a total of 52.7 cubic feet.

TAKE COMMAND

The generous freeboard forward, combined with the raised pilothouse configuration, results in a tremendous eye-level of 15-feet above the waterline. This gives a commanding view with unobstructed visibility. The captain will appreciate the ergonomically and professionally designed helm station and vertical window style. Aft to port is a richly upholstered settee with a table doubling as a pilot berth for long voyages. Aft to starboard is the well placed on-deck head.

ON-DECK GALLEY

The D85 galley is fully equipped to prepare lavish gourmet meals or simple snacks. Standard are under-mount stainless double sink, wall oven with microwave above, cooktop, dishwasher, trash-compactor and SubZero refrigerator/freezer.

Nowhere is the sense of quiet luxury blended with informality more apparent than in the expansive galley, which is open to the wheelhouse. Within arm’s reach of the galley is a plush, elevated settee creating a comfortable, flowing space for casual entertaining while underway or at anchor. This is ideal for owner operators who do not want to be isolated in the galley.

CONVENIENT FLYBRIDGE ACCESS

Standard to the DAUNTLESS D85 yacht is a comfortable stairway to the flybridge making access easy and convenient for both crew and guests.

GENEROUS DECK SPACE AND LOUNGING AREAS

Spacious lounging areas on the foredeck, aft deck and flybridge are inherent to the DAUNTLESS D85 yacht. Two, lush dining alfresco areas are incorporated on the aft main deck and flybridge that will comfortably seat eight. The flybridge dining table also drops down to form a large lounging pad. The D85 has ample deck space to accommodate a 20-foot tender. The ability to carry an oversize tender is an important feature for serious cruising. The boat deck can also accommodate scooters and other water toys.

FLYBRIDGE BAR AND GRILL

Adjacent the flybridge dining is a fully equipped service bar and stainless gas grill. The bar is ideal for a staging area to serve a formal meal or can serve as a buffet for a la carte. The bar is equipped with a refrigerator, ice maker and stainless sink.

FLYBRIDGE HELM AND SEATING

The flybridge helm is well placed for optimum visibility and direct access from the pilothouse. An elevated settee with table is to the port and elevated “L” shaped settee is to the starboard.

EASY ACCESS

Getting around the DAUNTLESS D85 yacht could not be easier. Full walk-around side decks, an inviting foredeck with a large, comfortable sunlounger, large covered aftdeck with stairways to the platform and boatdeck eliminate traffic through the salon.

The first motor yacht D75 Explorer by Dauntless Yachts to be launched in November

September 04, 2012

Dauntless Yachts is delighted to announce that its first 75-foot motor yacht D75 Explorer is scheduled for launch this November. Successfully sold, the D75 Explorer yacht is currently under construction in Istanbul, Turkey.

DAUNTLESS’ the Explorers’ EXPLORER is a line of new expedition vessels developed for adventurous spirits desiring to explore remote, exotic locations in comfort and safety, with minimal shore support. The 75-foot luxury yacht D75 is built like a small ship with all the accoutrements of a luxurious megayacht, including a timeless look and a flowing, distinctive style.

Naval Architect, Jon Overing, of Overing Yacht Designs, created the outstanding D75 Explorer yacht with seaworthiness, safety and outstanding fuel economy required for long passages with minimal operating costs.

Available in both 75 and 85-foot versions, DAUNTLESS is based upon Overing’s proprietary fast-displacement hull form, noted for its superior seakeeping qualities, increased speeds and fuel efficiency.

The D75 yacht`s seagoing hull exceeds one mile to the gallon economy resulting in a cruising range of over 4,000 nautical miles with standard 4,000 gallon tankage.

Daunless D75 yacht - Dining

Daunless D75 yacht - Dining

The triple-deck arrangement and additional hull depth inherent in the fast-displacement hull design, facilitates a full four stateroom ensuite configuration, plus separate ensuite crew quarters aft. The centrally located full-beam master stateroom features luxurious his and hers bathrooms.

A dayhead is conveniently located aft of the wheelhouse. A full height lower level is incorporated beneath the guest staterooms, which includes a commercial laundry facility, three additional deep freeze units, as well as extensive dry goods storage and storage for auxiliary machinery and spare parts, enabling the D75 yacht to cruise for extended periods in remote locales without need for reprovisioning.

DAUNTLESS models are constructed entirely infused vinylester resin. The SCRIMP process is used throughout with a solid laminate hull, with foam cored superstructure, decks, stringers and bulkheads. The result is an exceptionally strong, low maintenance vessel, resistant to blistering and delamination.

Common to military and high-end commercial vessels, DAUNTLESS yachts are equipped with 70/30 copper nickel stand pipe sea chests and monel inverted cone strainers, rather than standard through-hulls, sea valve and basket-style strainers. All equipment is commercial grade and top quality with extensive use of 316L stainless steel, many components being polished to a mirror finish.

Luxury yacht D75 - Salon

All vital – and some non-vital – systems have full redundancy in the event of failure. This allows uninterrupted operation until repairs can be effected, essential for any vessel embarking on extended cruising. Convenient walk-down stairs with generous 6’4” headroom within the laundry and forward machinery spaces provide easy access and maintenance from the interior.

The exceptionally luxurious JC Espinosa designed interior of the D75 Explorer yacht in traditional raised panel oak creates a handsome, flowing space with impeccable attention to every detail. True megayacht quality finishing exceeds that of vessels commonly found in this market niche.

Nowhere is the sense of quiet luxury blended with informality more apparent than in the expansive galley, which is open to the wheelhouse. Within arm’s reach of the galley is a plush elevated settee creating a comfortable extensive space for casual entertaining while underway or at anchor, ideal for owner-operators who do not want to be isolated in the galley.

DAUNTLESS D75 yacht is a serious off-shore explorer with megayacht features in just 75-foot length, striking a perfect balance in today’s world climate, combining tremendous fuel efficiency, low operating costs and requirement for minimal crew.
