The well known Dutch builder, Mulder Shipyard, completed the all-new motor yacht Mulder 73 Flybridge in late November 2012. Featuring both the exterior as well as the interior design by Guido de Groot Design, the latest Mulder 73 Flybridge yacht has recently arrived in Brisbane, Australia.

The Mulder 73 Flybridge yacht has a total length of 22.30m overall and a beam of 6.20m. The spacious flybridge houses a large jet-propelled tender and a smaller dinghy with outboard engine. A comfortable U-shaped seating area on the port side seats eight. The flybridge is also equipped with a bar with grill, refrigerator and sink. The large fixed bimini has lots of window space while also offering plenty of shade in sunny conditions.

The interior of luxury yacht Mulder 73 Flybridge includes a spacious full-beam owner’s suite, VIP suite and guest cabin; each with its own shower and toilet. Swich panels 230 volt:

Electrolysis:
The use of isolation transformers will exclude any risk of electrolysis. As extra and additional security the ship will be equipped with an earth fault measuring system equipped with alarm function. Should the ship find itself in an “electrically polluted” environment then the system will indicate this via an alarm.

Switch Panels 24 Volt:
A main switchboard is mounted in the engine room en is equipped with “double pole” fuses and where necessary engine security switches. Also a manual “earth fault” monitoring system is installed.

Feadship welcomes home 71m motor yacht UTOPIA for refit

Originally launched in 2004, the impressive 71,60-metre charter yacht Utopia has returned home to Feadship for a range of maintenance activities as well as technical upgrades. This is the second time Feadship has welcomed home motor yacht Utopia for a refit, the first being a successful project in 2007 to personalise this outstanding vessel to its then new owner’s requirements.

“The main reason to come to Feadship for a refit is to retain the essence of how the boat was built and ensure she remains of the highest pedigree possible in the world today,” says Utopia’s captain, Kevin Paul Collins.

The main activities involved in the Utopia yacht project are repainting the hull and superstructure, adding a new coat of underwater antifouling, installation of a new A-Sea shore power convertor, installing a new HMSA sewage treatment plant to meet the latest IMO requirements, and reconditioning the teak decks.

Feadship will also carry out a wide range of minor maintenance jobs on the exterior, interior and machinery systems as superyacht Utopia is brought – quite literally – to better than new status.

“We are both delighted and proud to have Utopia back for the second time since her launch,” says Ico Vergouwe, Refit Manager at Feadship. “This shows how both the owner and crew feel confident that Feadship offers the best service at a reasonable price, making sure that Utopia keeps her high value. It is also pleasing to note that our open approach makes it attractive enough for an owner to bring a yacht back to the Netherlands even when this means adapting his schedule to fit in a tight refit slot.”

Captain Collins, who has been at the helm of mega yacht Utopia since May 2011, agrees. “Although we have covered some 46,000 miles over the past two years, Utopia has been exceptional. She has also been very well maintained and we could easily have waited another year for this refit. However, when he heard that a dock was available in March the owner changed his cruising plans and sent us off on our third Atlantic crossing in seven months. It is definitely worth the effort as the owners get a better product… And it is a great experience for me as skipper to take a signature Feadship like this back to the yard. It gives us all a real sense of pride.”

The prestigious International Superyacht Society (ISS) Design and Leadership Awards annually recognize individuals as well as companies for their expertise, leadership and dedication to raising the standards of design, building, maintenance, repair and operation of large yachts. It is a remarkable achievement in itself to be nominated as a finalist in these most competitive super yacht awards in the industry. Last year, Guido de Groot Design has been listed with the AB116 Yacht DIAMOND.

Motor yacht Diamond features a split level main salon, which follows the AB tradition of creating large vertical spaces ahead of the helm position. The yacht features a generous full beam master cabin, with a spacious bathroom, and relaxation lounge. She also has a fitness room that can be converted in a twin cabin, a further two twin cabins and a VIP double cabin. Her contemporary interior can be described as uncomplicated without being minimalist, with light colours and contrasting finishes.

Like the other yachts built by AB Yachts, the 116 superyacht Diamond is built using materials borrowed from the aerospace industry, which ensure light weight, yet high strength and solidity. She displays the sleek, tapered and harmonious lines of an open, emphasized by an iridescent, lightly gilded livery. There’s also a flying bridge, though this is almost invisible to onlookers.

Launched and delivered last year, the Timmerman 26 motor yacht Atlantic is the second hull of this series constructed in Russia, following Exodus yacht, which was handed over in 2009. Made of steel and aluminum, the 26-metre Atlantic superyacht is DNV classed and MCA compliant. She boasts both exterior as well as interior design by renowned Guido de Groot.

The prominent Dutch designer, Guido de Groot, is currently working on the new motor yacht Intec Marine 140 Hybrid, being developed in partnership with Doug Sharp Design for Intec Marine. The highly innovative 150-feet Intec Marine 140 Hybrid superyacht represents a new type of semi-displacement hybrid motor yacht.

To be built in aluminum, the 150 feet Intec Marine 140 Hybrid yacht features several novelties, including the use of a small gas turbine generator for bringing the vessel on its top speed of 25 knots.

Two technical areas on board instead of one conventional engine room allows to create a layout with a large tender garage and a beach club area and more interior space for guests and crew on the lower deck.

Propulsion is given by Voith Linear Jet drives in combination with 2 electro engines. The 150ft luxury yacht Intec Marine 140 Hybrid is making use of 8 kW solar panels, 4 vertical axis wind turbines and 2 speed generators.

The magnificent 26-metre motor yacht Continental III is currently in build at the Dutch shipyard, Wim van der Valk Yachts. Designed by well known Guido de Groot, Continental III superyacht was specifically developed to sail as well as operate with a crew, offering her guests on board maximum privacy. Construction is well underway and Continental III is due to be delivered in August 2013.

The Jet Tern Marine shipyard in Zuhai, China is currently working on the first two Selene 92 yachts, which are both scheduled for launch in mid-2014. Measuring 28 meters in length, the beautiful motor yacht Selene 92 belongs to the Selene Yachts‘ Ocean Explorer series. She is designed with long range cruising in mind by renowned Dutch designer, Guido de Groot.

Currently under construction at Wim van der Valk, the 26 metre Continental III yacht is a lovely vessel, designed in collaboration with Guido de Groot. Her modern design features representative head-turning Wim van der Valk looks and style. Super Yacht Continental III was specifically created to sail and operate with a crew, providing her guests on board with a maximum privacy.

The tri-deck layout of the motor yacht Continental III features the engine room on the lower level, with an excellent access from inside as well as via the special large door on the swimming platform.

The saloon, located on the main deck, directly connects to the large aft deck where guests can relax and be entertained. In the front part of this level, there is a large dining area, connected to the galley via a hallway. The hallway features a side-door opening onto the side deck.

The upper lever features the flybridge. Halfway between the flybridge and the main deck there is a completely separate wheelhouse, which is also accessible via the previously mentioned hallway. Luxury Yacht Continental III offers an excellent and spacious sun deck area at her bow. She is due for delivery in Summer, 2013.
