Zuccon International Project has worked in conjunction with the CRN Engineering Department and the company’s Interiors & Design Department.

A steel and aluminium displacement yacht, M/Y SUPERCONERO has a beam of 8.6m/28ft and falls under 500 GRT. Among the design features is a side balcony that can be used while cruising, a sea terrace, a semi-submerged ‘float-in’ tender garage and a beach club to the aft.

A pool is located on the main deck aft and a Jacuzzi is placed forward of the sundeck. In addition, the bow features a Portuguese deck and a a generous area for sunpads.

Following the sophisticated Art Noveau style chosen for the interiors, the furnishings use curving lines that complement the bespoke handmade detailing to be found in each room. The strong lines of the hull blend seamlessly with the floor-to-ceiling windows to be found across each deck, designed for an owner looking for a sleek superyacht with generous outdoor spaces to experience the most of every visited destination.

Construction on the 41m/135ft series-K flagship from Cerri Cantieri Navali is continuing to schedule, and as of July 2017 the hull has been sanded in preparation for the finish to be applied.

Commissioned in October 2015 for an American owner, expedition yacht K40 KANGA will be cruising in the polar oceans and the finish has been specially formulated to meet the requirements of such environments.

In a break from conventional expedition yacht finishes, the K40 will have a layered finish totalling only 4mm, whereas most expedition yacht finishes are 10mm-20mm. The result is a smoother appearance without the finish defects usually associated with steel plate construction.

The majority of the construction and engineering has been completed: The underlying deck grill is done and tubing is in the advanced stages. The main electrics panel will be installed shortly as most of the work has been completed, and work fitting the interiors has entered the initial stages.

The first of two projects currently underway at the Cerri Cantieri Navali yard, the four-deck K40 has a length overall of almost 41 meters, with a maximum beam of 9.4 meters. Extremely reliable, easy to run and maintain, a steel hull reinforced in accordance with the Light Ice Class and an aluminum superstructure, all under 500 GT.

To meet Light Ice Class specifications the steel hull has been reinforced and an aluminium superstructure places the expedition yacht under 500GT. Simple to run and maintain, the K40 will be a reliable expedition yacht cruising the polar oceans.

Futuristic 101m Superyacht Concept Mauna Kea

July 12, 2017

Written by Maria Korotaeva

Italian designer Roberto Curto, presented the new futuristic superyacht concept. Mauna Kea is the name of this 101-metre luxury mega yacht project, which stands out due to its unusual design idea.

Mauna Kea Superyacht concept

Named after a dormant volcano in Hawai, superyacht Mauna Kea features two central water slides, as well as a front staircase leading to the helipad and the aft staircase. Not only the water slide flows into the main swimming pool on the after deck creating an extra wow factor, but all together with the superstructure and staircases, it resembles a massive volcano.

“The main deck from a guest’s point of view is actually the upper deck, giving the feeling of a much larger stern With the dining area located below, you can choose to go up one deck to the main deck or to the beach club /cinema down below,” comments Roberto Curto.

Despite the idea behind Mauna Kea’s design, the superyacht still functions as an opulent vessel, able to accommodate 12 guests and provide them with a large number of lavish amenities. The yacht is large enough also to accommodate 22 crew members who will take care of everything, while guests will enjoy an incredible cruising experience. The owner will enjoy the full-beam private lounge and a private Jacuzzi on the owner’s deck.

Mauna Kea will be able to reach a top speed of 16.5 knots and cruising comfort at 12 knots.

“New ideas are not invented by anyone but are rather born from a client’s necessity.  Those needs are then articulated by someone who has a talent to interpret them.   In this case I wanted to design a yacht that would conceptually allow guests to “run” from the bow to the aft deck without crossing the interiors and even to travel faster and with maximum enjoyment by sliding from one deck to the other into the refreshing pool as if escaping from an erupting volcano!” – says Curto.

SuperYachtsMonaco is now working with Roberto Curto. Shipbuilder Fincantieri Yachts, has shown interest in this project. If Mauna Kea superyacht project evolves in collaboration with Fincantieri, upon delivery, this yacht will become the third largest ever built by Fincantieri, following Ocean Victory and Serene. She will also become another “Top 100 Largest Superyacht in the World” contender.

Earlier this year Fincantieri unveiled another mega yacht concept, Private Bay, which you can view here. Find out more about Fincantieri Yachts or contact our charter brokers if you wish to charter a luxury yacht built by this shipbuilder.

Columbus Yachts has announced that its Columbus 80m mega yacht has left the shipyard in Naples to join the completed aluminium superstructure in Ancona.

Due to the unique construction process the construction was split over 2 sites, the result of which is a swifter production time, reducing the overall process by 8 months without compromising on quality.

Before heading to Ancona, the hull contained a number of finished systems and areas, including piping, stabilizing fins, engines, generators, pumps and bow thruster, with the crew area nearing completion.

The Columbus 80m represents the first in a series of superyachts, with greater sizes expected to be produced in the coming years.
