Superyacht In Focus: The Elegant 67m Charter Yacht Anna

May 22, 2017

Written by Maria Korotaeva

CharterWorld yacht charter specialists are the real experts when it comes to luxury yacht charters aboard crewed superyachts. They have a lot to offer in terms of experience, advocacy and advice for charterers. This time they stepped aboard the luxury 67-metre superyacht Anna. Motor yacht Anna was built by the bespoke shipbuilder Feadship and has just gone through a general refit. According to our charter brokers, Anna is an absolutely amazing choice when it comes to yacht charter vacation this summer with family and friends.

Interior living spaces feature sophisticated decor and an inviting atmosphere. “Most of the furniture (if not all) throughout the yacht has lovely discrete Mother-of-Pearl inlays, and the A/C is kept on AT ALL TIMES to keep her humidity rate at 60% to protect the wood and marquetry. There are mobile temperature centres everywhere that are linked to pagers and phones, and an alarm will notify the crew if it varies by 0.3! Parquet flooring is beautiful and in great condition. So is all the furniture, wooden features, and everything really. Darkwood is used throughout, but because the ceilings are high and rooms quite vast, it leaves a comfortable, spacious feeling. Even the engine room, crew mess and cabins are all exceedingly clean and tidy,” mentioned our yacht charter specialist Solenne Vaudin d’Imécourt.

The main salon is well-appointed and includes a generous, comfortable lounge with soft furnishings. One of the unique features of the yacht is the option of converting the salon into a voguish disco club, which has the lights, smoke machine, DJ booth and speakers. The formal dining room is port side and has sliding doors out towards a drop down terrace. The dining room is serviced by a hidden pantry connected to the main galley below.

Spotless and maintained to the highest standards, motor yacht Anna offers lavish accommodation for 12 guests in 6 cabins. The master suite boasts a private study, opulent bathroom facilities and an enormous wardrobe. It also has a lounge above, which overlooks the bedroom, and boasts a generous couch, video conferencing, TV and great outside areas. Guests aboard were also thrilled to find a golf machine on the deck, which pops out golf balls and surely adds extra fun to the entertainment options while on a luxury yacht charter holiday.

“The master suite is breathtaking: It is impossible to capture how high the ceiling is in a photo,” CharterWorld’s Solenne Vaudin d’Imécourt, commented. “It’s at least double height and I believe you could fit four or five of me, each standing on each others’ shoulders… but then again, I’m not tall! It is huge, has an impressive en-suite bathroom and dressing, and its own lounge above with a skylight.”

There is also a VIP cabin on the upper deck with a queen size bed, two double cabins each with a queen size bed and two twin cabins that are of a generous size, ideal for using Pullman beds in each.

Decks are all clean, spacious and with biminis on each, and there is lots of space to lounge around throughout the yacht. Among luxurious amenities, there are Jacuzzi, Hammam and gymnasium. A generous variety of water toys contains two tenders, jet skis, windsurfers, kayaks, sea bobs and an inflatable slide, to mention but a few.

Solenne also mentioned, “The crew seems to be great. Discrete, hardworking and pay great attention to detail. All smiles and very polite. Unquestionably, this yacht in excellent condition that left me with a very comfortable feeling and that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.”

Charter Broker’s Expert Opinion: Aboard Luxury 43m Superyacht Blue Vision in Spain

May 15, 2017

Written by Maria Korotaeva

The month of May is a very exciting time, as it is the opening of the yacht charter season in the Mediterranean. It is also a very busy time of the year for our charter specialists at CharterWorld, as luxury superyachts are booking up very fast and invitations to attend familiarisation trips, also known as Fam-trips, are never turned down. This year our charter broker Trina Howes had an opportunity to cruise aboard 43.60m Benetti charter yacht Blue Vision. Incredible charter experience, additional knowledge of the cruising destination, first-class service onboard visiting the best place in the Balearic Islands; below are the highlights of Trina’s trip.

MY BLUE VISION - Main

MY BLUE VISION – Main

ABOUT THE YACHT

Last refitted in 2016, motor yacht Blue Vision is an elegant 43.60-metre charter yacht, which was built by the Italian shipbuilder Benetti. Blue Vision combines the expertise and craftsmanship with the world-renowned Italian style. She provides comfortable accommodation for 12 charter guests in 5 cabins.

MY BLUE VISION - Master stateroom

The accommodation layout comprises of a master stateroom on the main deck,  two double and two twin cabins. The master cabin is quite outstanding, as it features a VIP entrance, a treadmill and his and her bathroom facilities.

Lavish relaxation spaces can be found on the sundeck, where the guests can enjoy the Spa pool and sun loungers. There is a beautiful alfresco dining area for ten guests to taste some gastronomic delights prepared by the chef.

Trina mentioned: “The menu was varied and I feel we got a really good preview of what Chef John can do, which seems to be everything. Gayle is a vegetarian, and she was also super impressed, and I thought her meals looks really yum.”

The upper deck hosts a large lounge with a dining table, a bar to sip on some aperitifs, and a seating area. Blue Vision’s ample deck space includes lovely areas for sunbathing and leisure. Blue Vision has an extensive selection of water toys, including Seabobs, wave runners, water skis, a banana and fishing equipment.

“The crew on board are literally perfect. I could not fault them on a single thing. The service was impeccable with them being at least three steps ahead of us at all times. They were calm, fun, super professional, very good looking, perceptive and hardworking. The chef was outstanding, and I loved all I ate.” – says Trina.

THE FAM-TRIP ITINERARY

Our broker Trina Howes embarked on Blue Vison in Barcelona, where Chef John prepared fantastic dinner to welcome guests. Barcelona is an excellent place to start a luxury yacht charter vacation, as the vibrant city has so much to offer. A tour around Barcelona is an incredible experience, especially when you include Park Guell, Sagrada Familia, Cathedral de Barcelona, Montjuic and Casa Ballo in your itinerary. You can admire the awe-inspiring views of Catalonia from the top floor of the W Hotel – one of the most luxurious hotels in Barceloneta.

From Barcelona, Blue Vision cruised to the northern part of Ibiza. This part of the island is full of secluded beaches filled with serenity and peacefulness. Ibiza is an extraordinary island, which offers vibrant nightlife and parties, as well as five-star hotels and fine dining restaurants, popular among yacht charterers.

As our charter brokers know, your Spanish charter itinerary would not be perfect without a visit to Formentera. One of the most famous islands in the Balerialic, Formentera is known for its pristine beaches, glittering sea and tranquillity. A day trip to the stunning island was a fantastic idea.

After that, Blue Vision left for another overnight crossing to Palma. “Es Trench” was a lovely place for lunch. Shopping and dining can be found at the beautiful Port Adriano. For water-sports lovers, Blue Vision offers a large variety of water toys to enjoy while in the warm waters of Palma.

Trina mentions that the weather in that part of the Mediterranean could be tricky, which might adjust your charter itinerary accordingly, but there are still plenty of places to visit. When planning a yacht charter holiday for a week or ten days in the area, it is a great idea to visit Mallorca and Ibiza.

MY BLUE VISION - Swim platform

“Blue Vision is a really pleasant yacht. She has just come out of 18 months in the yard, so it looks brand new. Great layout that flows really well. Its stabilisers are very good. The blue leather couches are very comfortable. Beds are also very comfy, beautiful linens, ample table décor and beautiful flatware.” -Trina Howes, CharterWorld yacht charter specialist.

Engaging 29th MYBA Charter Show for CharterWorld’s senior brokers and management in Barcelona

May 12, 2017

Written by Rachael Steele

From the 24th – 27th April Barcelona, Spain hosted the 29th MYBA Charter Show, a trade-only event attended by all levels of the professional yachting industry with continuing improvements in safety and services at the core of the conference.

CharterWorld Senior Brokers Nicolas Benazeth, Martha Lukasik, Josh Burdett, Reia Stannard, Trina Howes and Amanda Brilliante attending the MYBA Yacht SHow

CharterWorld Senior Brokers Nicolas Benazeth, Martha Lukasik, Josh Burdett, Reia Stannard, Trina Howes and Amanda Brilliante attending the MYBA Yacht Show

The show is perhaps the most important event on any professional charter broker’s agenda, offering valuable opportunity to meet fellow industry colleagues, discuss business opportunities and new trends and most importantly provides a possibility to view the latest charter yachts on the market, assessing various aspects as well as meeting the crew on board.

CharterWorld’s Charter Director, Reia Stannard and senior brokers Nick Benazeth, Josh Burdett, Amanda Brillante, Martha Lukasik and Trina Howes attended the four-day event and had the opportunity to board some of the most popular Mediterranean charter yachts and experience life on board, savour the mouthwatering dishes prepared by talented Chefs and served by the crew in order to demonstrate their ability and level of service future charter clients will receive during their vacation.

“We saw some yachts at the show that are normally in the Balearics so it was a good chance to inspect vessels we would not normally see in Genoa, such as DIANE and MENORCA (a superb newly-refitted classic with Edmiston that was probably my favourite boat this year).”

Previously hosted by Genoa, Barcelona is the new home for the MYBA Show until 2020. The change of location has brought a new set of benefits and challenges, as Josh Burdett commented on the event:

“The layout of the OneOcean Port Vell lends itself really well to the show, allowing a lot of yachts to be shown along one continuous dock and ending the need to be ferried from one side to the other as it was in Genoa. I think from a yacht owner and Broker perspective, everything ran smoothly and was well organised.

“Although poor weather and the travelling distance for some superyachts in the Eastern Mediterranean does mean there were a few no shows – and it may prevent some yachts from attending in future – overall the quality was very high and there was a particularly strong showing of the bigger yachts at the upper end of the fleet.”

Of the largest and most popular yachts currently for charter in the Mediterranean, the event showcased superyachts JOY, ICON, NERO, INDIAN EMPRESS and TALISMAN MAITON.

“We saw some yachts at the show that are normally in the Balearics so it was a good chance to inspect vessels we would not normally see in Genoa, such as DIANE and MENORCA (a superb newly-refitted classic with Edmiston that was probably my favourite boat this year),” Josh Burdett adds further.

Amanda Brilliante sampled the cuisine on board M/Y INDIAN EMPRESS and M/Y CD TWO and commented on the variety of cuisine on each:

“There was an amazing Indian buffet lunch aboard INDIAN EMPRESS: It was a very very cold rainy day on the 26th of April and lunch was set indoors in main dining room. There must have been an assortment of at least 25 dishes both hot and cold. Approximately 20 guests attended, so quite a warm, congenial atmosphere and an amazing spread of items to choose from.

“Also an excellent lunch the next day on luxury yacht CD TWO – a most innovative Chef Lorenzo created excellent fish dishes, but also a bit of molecular gastronomy going on as well which added a bit of flash to things. The palate cleanser was a fun treat (electric sorbet – it really felt electric on the tongue and lips!) as well as the ice cream cigars which were served under glass with real cigar smoke.”

During the MYBA charter show the chefs of each vessel competed in two different competitions: the best cocktail as ‘Art in a Glass’, the MYBA Superyacht Chefs’ Competition and the table-scaping competition with the theme: ‘Spring in Barcelona’. Kate Barnett of motor yacht CHEETAH MOON won the first event, impressing the judges with her stylised presentation and creativity with ingredients. Exclusive Dubai TV interview with Josh Burdett, luxury yacht broker for CharterWorld

March 24, 2017

Written by Rachael Steele

Josh Burdett, a London-based luxury yacht broker for CharterWorld, appeared on Dubai TV to speak on the trends of Arab clients following the 25th edition of the Dubai International Boat Show, which ran from the 27th of February until the 3rd of March.

Water toys were a prominent and popular subject at the Dubai International Boat Show, where everything was showcased from the latest Seabobs and submarines to the dolphin-like Seabreacher. This is reflected in Middle Eastern clients’ desire for charter yachts with a comprehensive selection of water toys, especially unusual and new toys that push the boundaries of exploration and excitement.

The Dubai International Boat Show reported excellent luxury yacht sales for both local and international brands, with Gulf Craft announcing the sale of its Majesty 135 on the first day of the event and Princess Yachts noting an increase in sales and leads in an industry going from strength to strength. This statement was echoed by Josh Burdett during his interview, who found from his own experience that corporate yacht charters were not hampered by the economic downturn, but the number of charter yachts available in the Middle Eastern region for the provided dates.

With the upcoming Cannes Film Festival and Monaco Grand Prix, a large number of luxury yacht charters in the Western Mediterranean are expected to be by Arab family groups and corporate groups, chartering yachts from 25m up to 100m+ mega yachts.
