Now in it’s third year, the Marine Turtle Conservation Project (launched by Emirates Wildlife Society in association with WWF (EWF-WWF)) has seen 75 critically endangered Hawksbill turtles fitted with satellite transmitters.

By fitting the turtles with transmitters it means the conservation team can keep an eye on this wonderful species, following the post-nesting Hawksbill turtles on their migratory routes and identifying their feeding grounds, helping to fill data gaps in the region.

Yas became the first marina in the UAE to be labelled with the Blue Flag in 2010. This Blue Flag recognition is a voluntary eco-status awarded to 3849 beaches and marinas across 46 countries. Yas Marina is continually adding to their increased environmental consciousness as shown in this latest Marine Turtle Conservation initiative.
