The Heesen Superyacht SKY has been launched. The large luxury yacht builder Heesen Yachts from Holland has announced the launch of their new motor yacht SKY. Yacht SKY was built as hull number 14750 and she measures in at just less than 50m (49.80m LOA). This makes motor yacht SKY Heesen Yacht’s largest displacement yacht to date.

The full displacement aluminium luxury yacht SKY was launched from the Oss shipyard in the presence of the yacht’s proud owners.
Weighing in at over 500GT (approx. 650GT) M/Y SKY is a fully customised 50m 2010 Hessen motor yacht featuring naval architecture by Heesen Yacht’s own in-house naval architects. In addition, her exterior styling and design is the work of Frank Laupman of the well regarded Omega Architects.
Superyacht SKY has a contemporary and masculine interior which was designed by the New York-based interior designers Mojo-Stumer Associates. The interior is decorated predominantly with Makassar cabinetry and featuring carbon fibre and stainless steel detailing.
Mark Stumer comments on the yacht’s interior: “The architecture of the interior was created to reinforce a linear spatial quality without sacrificing internal headroom. Mundane elements of everyday life, such as televisions, kitchen equipment, and storage units, have been concealed to express immaculate symmetry. This yacht has the window glazing employing an external butt-joint to eliminate dominant vertical mullions”.
Yacht SKY can accommodate the maximum of 12 guests in her four guest cabins and one yacht owner’s suite. The owner’s suite is located forward on the main deck and features a bathroom equipped with a custom-made steam shower.
Her two twin bedded guest cabins are located amidships and down on her lower deck. To aft, her two VIP double cabins are situated. All cabins are of course equipped with private en suite shower rooms.
Superyacht SKY features a fully equipped fitness area up on her sundeck and here the custom made octagonal spa pool also occupies the forward element of her beautifully sheltered outside deck area.
Yacht SKY is propelled by twin MTU diesel engines and she can reach her top speed of 23 knots, giving a range of 3,200 nautical miles.
After intensive sea trials in the North Sea, luxury motor yacht SKY is scheduled for formal delivery to her lucky owners in April 2010.
