Created in time for the Caribbean superyacht charter season, Worldwide Wellness represents a new company, offering personal wellness, fitness and nutrition services to luxury charter yachts and guests around the world. It was established by Nichole Knapp, a certified yoga and Pranassage instructor and registered holistic nutritionist, who has spent the last 11 years working as a chief stewardess aboard such busy private and charter vessels as the 50m Delta charter yacht Victoria del Mar.

The company provides a range of highly specialized services, from yoga, Pranassage, acupuncture, massage, reiki and meditation to personal nutrition instruction. Each of the company’s certified therapists and instructors is not only professionally trained, but has worked as a crewmember aboard private and charter yachts and thus has an inherent understanding of the charter yacht atmosphere.

CharterWorld has spoken to Nichole Knapp to find out more about her new company and the services it offers.

Where did the idea of creating the company ‘Worldwide Wellness’ come from?

The idea for this company has evolved over the years during my career as Chief Stewardess on charter vessels. When a guest would discover my background as a yoga teacher, a class was always requested, but as stewardess my day was already 18 hours with maybe a lunch break and a shower before dinner service. I did not have time to give them the service they were paying for as well as a yoga class. I have also witnessed stewardesses who are hired as a stew/masseuse struggle because they are not performing either task to their fullest potential. Because health and wellness is becoming more integral to yacht charter, I want to offer the industry a service that is currently lacking. Worldwide Wellness allows me to combine two of my passions – health & wellness and yachting – while bringing to the industry a high-level service.

How much experience in yoga or other practices do guests have to have before requesting your services?

This service will be catered to the guest’s requirements. Yoga classes will offered for all levels; my teachers are able to teach a beginner who is new to yoga who would just like to try, and also skilled yogis who have a regular practice. Once a request is made for a service I will do my best to match the practitioner with the needs of the client.

Do charter guests or the yacht need to have their own exercise equipment?

It would be ideal for a yacht to have tools such as a massage table, or exercise equipment already on board. If they do not have what is necessary for the service, I should be notified in advance so arrangements can be made to ensure the practitioner is prepared. As director, I will have direct contact with the Chief Stewardess/Purser prior to the charter to help them prepare.

What is the minimum and maximum of days required for guests to use your services?

Three full days is the minimum requirement for a member of my team who has to travel (planes, trains ect) to meet the yacht. If a day service is required this can also be arranged for my team members who are based in the area. The maximum amount of days will/can be decided by the team member and client at the time.

To which parts of the world are you able to send your team?

As of today, my team are able to provide service anywhere in the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and the West Coast of US & Mexico. My plan is to expand to South America, South East Asia and Australia. It would be ideal to have a booking agent working with a team Worldwide.
