RSB Rigging Solutions have had a team onboard preparing the rigs for the unstepping procedure throughout the week. The current plan is for the crane to arrive from Barcelona on the 14th of April and both masts to be removed before the Easter holidays. The main mast is 65m high, manufactured out of aluminium and weighs 22 Tons. This is a huge project for both RSB Rigging Solutions and the STP yard in Palma de Mallorca as luxury yacht Asahi will require a 450 Ton crane to lift the rigs; the biggest that has ever been used in the yard. The crane is 80m high and will be brought in from Barcelona.

Steve Branagh the managing director of RSB states:
“We are very happy to have Asahi in Palma and look forward to working with the captain and crew on the rig refit. This is a great project for RSB that will showcase the expertise and the second to none facilities that are available in Palma.”
