In order to focus on the new carbon composite SuperSport series of yachts, the world-renowned US superyacht builder, Palmer Johnson, has announced that they have made a strategic decision to move their manufacturing operations to Europe. Following a remarkable interest in the SuperSport range, the company will thus gain significant competitive advantages by constructing their next generation of yachts in Europe.

An agreement to take over a shipyard in the Netherlands has just been finalized, and the second PJ48 metre carbon SuperSport yacht hull, currently under construction in Norway, will be completed in the new facility from November this year, with the third hull expected to follow in April 2016. Moulds for the PJ 42 metre SuperSport yacht, scheduled for delivery in late 2017, are also currently being manufactured.

Moreover, Palmer Johnson will continue to produce its successful line of Aluminium SportYachts in Europe, with a core team of Palmer Johnson employees to be transferred to its European facility. The company will therefore close its Sturgeon Bay facility upon the completion of the 3rd PJ 170 SportYacht, presently in build.
