Along with news that AB Yachts have secured an order for a new flagship model, the AB 166 motor yacht , AB Yachts will also launch an AB 116 motor yacht in 2011. The AB 116 yacht will be entirely custom built able to accommodate up to 10 guests in a 5 stateroom layout.

The AB 116 motor yacht is the latest novelty of the AB Yachts shipyard which part of the FIPA GROUP. The AB 116 yacht is a sports yacht with the distinctive AB Yachts style, features a slender hull with smooth, tapering, and winning lines.

The interior spaces of the AB 116 motor yacht have been conceived in order to grant the utmost comfort in an environment able to create a continuity between the exterior and interior. When entering from the main door aft, the spaciousness of the room together with the choice of natural materials such as wenge and durmast together with subtlety coloured fabrics and leathers, create a salon with a big impact. The large windows provide the feeling of space and light and the internal layout of the yacht has been arranged to create a unique and comfortable environment while cruising the world’s seas and oceans.

AB Yachts stylistic design of the new AB 116 motor yacht includes the finest of details. The main deck consists of a salon with a wide U-shape sofa, and a pop up 50’’ TV to starboard along with a bar in corner that includes fridge, ice maker and sink. There is also a dining table for 10 guests forward.
The wheelhouse is separated from the salon by a discreet panel in the center of the area at half the height of the room, in order to allow a 360° visibility of the exterior from any point in the main deck.
Downstairs there is a second salon used as TV room that receives light from the upper deck windows. The owner cabin at the stern is a true suite, bright and spacious, thanks to the wide windows on both sides. There are two twin cabins with twin beds and private bathroom and a VIP cabin located forward and an additional cabin that can be used as gym or guest cabin. The crew quarters, containing three cabins and bathrooms, also contain a fully accessorized galley.
The exterior of the AB 116 motor yacht featuring teak flooring is also impressive. The aft cockpit immediately reveals the attention given to the maximization of the space for relaxing with a wide sunbed that can be used as a sofa. On the bow, there is a convivial area with table and sofas. Sofas and a huge sunbed are also on the Flying bridge, where there is also a helm station and a comfortable dining area forward with icemaker and fridge.

Like for the other sea jewels built by the Massa shipyard, from the structural point of view the AB116 motor yacht features a hull and superstructure built with materials borrowed from aerospace industry that are light yet solid. The three engines MTU 16V2000 M93 CR of 2400 HP each with the 3 MJP waterjets allow the new AB 116 to reach a maximum speed of 46 knots with the utmost confidence and total absence of vibrations.
The new AB Yachts 116 ft motor yacht is expected to be launched and delivered by June 2011.
