The prominent Dutch builder, Moonen Shipyards, has signed the contract for an extensive refit of the motor yacht Rusalina. Originally launched in 1992 under the name Xanadu, Rusalina superyacht is a classic example of a Moonen 83 vessel. She will pass the upcoming 4 months at the Moonen yard in Groot Ammers where a dedicated team of specialists will ensure that she is brought completely up-to-date in every aspect.

“We are delighted that the owners of Rusalina chose to have this work carried out at Moonen,” explains Niek van Twillert, head of design and development. “The yacht had a refit at another yard several years ago but the owners decided that the only place where they could be sure of a premium outcome was at Moonen. Jan Tielemans, who leads our after-sales service team, travelled to Moscow recently to inspect Rusalina. This enabled us to give a very accurate estimate of the work that needs carrying out, ensuring that the owners can embark on this project with complete confidence.”

The activities will include a comprehensive exterior paint job, the laying of new teak decks, an extensive engine and generator overhaul, and the fitting of new stainless steel features such as anchor pockets and windscreen. Rusalina superyacht will also be given new windows and is sure to look as good as new by the time the refit is completed. The interior work will be comprised of system maintenance, the installation of new navigation & communication equipment and a range of cosmetic upgrades.
