The first two of the Monte Fino latest models – the upgraded motor yacht Monte Fino 76 as well as the ecHo 85 superyacht – will head to Europe at the end of the year in time for the beginning of the 2013 boat show season, as recently announced by Monte Fino Europe, the European importer for the Monte Fino range of luxury motoryachts.

These latest designs use the combined skills of UK naval architect Rob Humphreys (Ermis², Oyster Yachts, TEMPUS) and Italian interior designer Giorgia Drudi (formerly of Ferretti) to create stylish semi-custom motoryachts that cater to the specific requirements of European owners.

The semi-displacement luxury yacht Monte Fino 76 has evolved since her introduction in 2009, and now has an all-new interior designed for warm water cruising together with a number of enhancements to the exterior styling of the flybridge. The first of the new superyacht ecHo 85 model will also be exhibiting contemporary European styling inside, but her purposeful design remains in keeping with her status as a genuine long-range eco-yacht, as characterised by her easily driven hull, low emissions and a full range of recycling and low-energy systems.

The specification on both models will be uncompromising. Examples of the high quality of the fit-out include stabilisers fitted as standard as well as the installation of sophisticated management systems including the Moritz Aerospace Octoplex multiplexed power management and monitoring system and Maretron N2KView Vessel monitoring and control software.  Esthec composite decking has been selected as representing the future of high-quality, environmentally-friendly hardwood alternatives.

“We feel that this is the right time to raise our profile in Europe,” said Monte Fino Europe’s Nigel Stevens. “There is a growing recognition among European owners that the two market areas in which Monte Fino excels – semi-custom yachts and environmentally-efficient cruising – are not only seeing increasing demand but are also highly cost effective, both in terms of build and operating costs. Many owners are just not prepared to wait three or more years for a fully bespoke vessel. Monte Fino offers the customisation where it counts; throughout the interior, and in substantially less time.”

This observation is borne out by activity at the shipyard; where 14 projects are currently in build, including four superyachts of over 30-metres. Recent investment at the yard has included the opening of a slipway capable of taking yachts up to 80-metres for repair and refit, and the facilities are to be expanded further to accommodate new-builds of 40-metres plus.
