As global economies continue to recover, Asia’s marine leisure industry remains robust leading to some major developments at the Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX) 2011. High on this list is the new in-water plan which is going to accommodate over 40 yachts in 2011, with 25 of these new spaces already reserved.
Royal Phuket Marina, Thailand
Now in its eighth year, PIMEX 2011, a stunning marine and lifestyle exhibition to be held at the Royal Phuket Marina Exhibition and Conference Centre in Phuket, Thailand from January 6 to 9, 2011, is set to be another major success. As well as the in-water space, the exhibition will occupy some 2,500 metres of air-conditioned display space adjacent to the marina basin.

95 exhibiting companies, and the presence of luxury motor yachts ranging from 10 to 30 metres, highlight PIMEX 2011’s position as the region’s favourite boat show.
Already confirmed are luxury motor yachts including Sunseeker, Gulf Craft, Formula, Chris Craft, Princess, Riviera, Pershing, Ferretti , Crowneline, Windy Boats, Cranchi, Fairline, Azimut, Benetti, SeaRay, Horizon, and Mustang. The passion and interests of sailing enthusiasts will be catered for by the likes of Jeanneau, Beneteau, Lagoon, Nautors Swan, Bavaria Yachts, Hanse, and Andaman Cabriolet.
All of the region’s major brokers, representing both local and imported brands, are set to participate. Not to mention a number of luxury charter boats up to 20m that will also be on show alongside electronics, engines, accessories and other equipment specific to the marine lifestyle. Adding additional value, several property and residential marina projects have expressed interest in the show, and the luxury motorcar brand Lexus has already booked display space.
The Royal Phuket Marina site offers a beautiful setting with five restaurants on the boardwalk overlooking the marina and a relaxed, but festive, atmosphere during the show.
