In addition to displaying more than 24 world-class luxury yachts for charter, the next week’s Newport Charter Yacht Show at the Newport Yachting Center will also feature several industry focused seminars, as part of its educational platform. The four-day event, hosted by picturesque Newport in Rhode Island, caters exclusively to charter industry professionals and as the only one of its kind in the U.S. Seminars, will be held on site at the Newport Yachting Center during the first three days of the event.

On Monday, June 17 at 9 a.m., a presentation by Scott Martinez of Bluewater Technologies will educate guests on information technology onboard yachts. On Tuesday, June 18 at 9 a.m., a presentation by managers of participating shipyards – Newport Shipyard, Fairhaven Shipyard, Front Street Shipyard, New England Boatworks and Boothbay Harbor Shipyard– will take its audience through the different services and accommodations that each yard offers.

The American Yacht Charter Association (AYCA) will round out the show’s seminar calendar by sponsoring and hosting a chapter of its organization’s Educational and Informative Seminars on Wednesday, June 19th from 7:30 to 11:00 a.m. AYCA’s Marketing/Motivational Segment Speaker Brian Butler will emcee the event, which kicks off with keynote speaker Jennifer Grace, Hay House Author and Executive Dream Producer, presenting “Directing Your Destiny: How to Become the Writer, Producer, and Director of Your Dreams.”

Following Grace will be two additional seminar segments: “The Charter Voice,” which will include a panel of captain, crew and charter professionals addressing questions related to the charter industry; and “VSAT for Charter Agents, Managers, and Captains,” which will be carried out by MTN Satellite Communications and bring the audience up to speed on the latest in communication onboard yachts.

Monday and Tuesday’s seminars are free to all show participants and guests. Tickets to AYCA’s Wednesday seminar are $30 per person (before 6/15) or $40 at the door (cash or check).

The Newport Charter Yacht Show is dedicated exclusively to yacht charter professionals, including agents, owners, brokers and captains, and showcases luxury charter yachts alongside displays of ancillary goods and services for the charter industry. Yachts from around the globe and ranging in size from 80 feet up to the super yacht size of 150 to 225+ feet are easily viewed dockside at the Newport Yachting Center and adjacent locations. Informative seminars, lively “yacht hops” and an exquisite culinary competition add to the essence of this 31-year-old show, now in its second year under management of Newport Exhibition Group.

The show’s Gold Sponsor is  AERE Docking Solutions; Bronze Sponsors include Awlgrip/Interlux, G Travel – USA, IDEA by SpecTec Inc., Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation and Providence Jet Center; Lanyard Sponsor is  IGY Marinas.  Supporting sponsors to-date are U.S. Superyacht Association (USSA), American Yacht Charter Association (AYCA), Yacht Insider’s Guide, and Media Partners Active Interest Media: Yachts International and Power & Motoryacht. In-kind Sponsors include Bridge Liquors, Ella Vickers and Chilly Cow of Boston.  Aston Martin of New England is the official auto of the Newport Charter Yacht Show.

The week kicks off with a Captain and Crew Reception, sponsored by Newport Shipyard (Sunday, June 16 at 6:00 p.m.) in the Hospitality Lounge (open daily), which is sponsored by West Marine Megayacht Supply. In the Show Office, complimentary coffee and tea (available daily from 8 a.m. to noon) is sponsored by Marsh Private Client Services. The Culinary Competition is organized and sponsored by The Captain’s Concierge.
