Hull for Perini Navi sailing yacht 42m E-volution arrives at Viareggio shipyard

The hull for the first Perini Navi sailing yacht 42M E-VOLUTION has completed its journey from the shipyard in Yidiz in Turkey, arriving in Viareggio, Italy.

The Evolution series was designed in collaboration with American performance yacht specialists Reichel/Pugh and the 42M EVOLUTION is the first hull in the new series that represents a new era in design and performance from the shipyard.

The naval architecture and sail plan from Reichel/Pugh were created to provide a balance between performance and cruising comfort: Equipped with a lifting keel and performance. Equipped with a lifting keel, the yacht will be powerful and easy to handle.

Constructed from aluminium with a carbon fibre boom mast, boom and rigging, the sloop-rigged design has exterior styling from Perini Navi Design & Style Director Franco Romani and one of its main features is a terraced aft deck for greater functionality and connection with the water.

The 42M EVOLUTION is the first Perini Navi sailing yacht with hybrid propulsion, with an eco-friendly e-motor to offset the diesel engine. In diesel mode, she is capable of a top speed of 9 knots and a range of 3,000 nautical miles.

Perini Navi Chairman and CEO Lamberto Tacoli confirmed that a second unit of the 42M EVOLUTION sailing yacht is under construction in Turkey after it was sold last November. The current 42M E-VOLUTION sailing yacht is due for delivery in summer 2020.
