Rivergate Marina and Shipyard has started the New Year with some amazing arrivals and departures, thanks in part to Sevenstar’s yacht transport services. The last three months saw the company’s project management team work on the 40-metre motor yacht RASA. Custom built by Palmer Johnson yachts in 2001, luxury superyacht RASA can sleep up to 10 guests. RASA appointed Rivergate to manage works to the vessel’s crane motor and brake, platform rails, guest cabins, electrics, hydraulic swim platform, as well as more.

Rivergate Marina and Shipyard were also excited to have a 50 metre Westport back with them, making her third visit to Rivergate. This vessel, built in 2011 by Westport, accommodating up to 12 guests, was specially designed for entertaining guests. However, it was not all work and no play; no stranger to Rivergate, whilst undergoing routine works on the vessel, the crew joined the yard for various celebrations including Melbourne cup. Both crews also attended the Rivergate Marina and Shipyard Christmas party while they were here, enjoying an Aussie-style outdoor sausage sizzle with other crews, Rivergate tenants and of course the Rivergate team.

More recently Rivergate welcomed motor yacht Vantage to the marina. This stunning 45 metre yacht was also constructed by Palmer Johnson. Vantage is truly unique in style, accommodating up to 12 guests, she is fully equipped with an outdoor Jacuzzi, bar, barbeque and several relaxation zones.

However, working with Sevenstar Yacht Transport, the three superyachts departed Rivergate last week, boarding the DYT Yacht Express to be transported to Costa Rica, Central America; via Auckland, New Zealand. Sevenstar are a world leader in yacht transport, customising their services for each client.

The silver lining of this rare mass-departure, was in-turn welcoming motor vessel Ocearch to Rivergate.  The 38 metre research vessel is run by a not-for-profit organisation, ‘’OCEARCH’’. The impressive vessel features an at-sea laboratory and custom research platform that can lift a 5,000 pound shark (original article here). As a leader in research of great white sharks, and other ocean predators, the organisation strives to generate previously unattainable data through the tagging of these animals. Leading the expedition is Chris Fischer, on the vessels second tour to Brisbane.

The motor vessels operation and success is backed by the support of company Hastings Deering / Caterpillar. Rivergate were privileged to work closely with the team at Hastings Deering to organise an exclusive event to continue the exceptional work and education offered by OCEARCH for this important cause. The event saw over eighty of the organisations employees visit Rivergate and tour the vessel, after a formal presentation and catered lunch.

Rivergate work with a wide range of vessels, including the likes of OCEARCH, superyachts, sailing yachts and pleasure craft of all shapes and sizes.
