British Virgin Islands to reopen to visitors from December 1st

On the 22nd of September the British Virgin Islands has announced that from the 1st of December, visitors will be free to visit the islands.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Andrew A. Fahie said of the two-month preparation ahead of reopening:

“This next phase also comes with a risk factor, where if a case of COVID-19 gets into our Territory, then it can go through the whole community very quickly. That is why we must use technology … [and] science to greatly assist us in re-opening in the safest way, humanly possible.”

The BVIs are a popular destination in the Caribbean charter grounds, particularly over the winter season when Foxy’s Bar and the Soggy Dollar Bar, both on Jost Van Dyke see in the New Year with fireworks. Scuba divers of all experience levels have plenty of dive sites to visit, the most famous being RHMS RHONE. The Baths is one of the most famous sights amongst the islands and is a picturesque scene of smooth round boulders resting on warm white sands beside clear blue water.
