Dutch shipyard Heesen has announced that the hull and superstructure have been joined for the 80m/262ft luxury yacht PROJECT COSMOS – the world’s largest all-aluminium yacht.

Project Cosmos – hull and superstructure joined

The Fast Displacement Hull Form is the latest low drag iteration and took the shipyard’s skilled welders 15 months to complete. She left the aluminium workshop in shed six showing off her patented ‘back bone’ that grants greater longitudinal strength.

PROJECT COSMOS is designed with the world’s most innovative naval architecture and engineering for one of the most advanced vessels on the market. Her sleek exterior profile comes from Winch Design, and quadruple engines give more than 1,900 HP to the 1,700 GT superyacht for an impressive top speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed above 20 knots.

She is now undergoing outfitting and is expected for launch in 2021.
