55m Yacht Support Vessel BLUE OCEAN hits water at Damen

The 55m Yacht Support Vessel BLUE OCEAN was launched on Friday at Damen’s Antalya shipyard, representing the 8th hull launched of the popular YS5009 (182foot) model. The yacht will be delivered this spring.

BLUE OCEAN is the very first shadow yacht constructed with a vast multi-purpose main deck hangar, which is suitable for submersible and dive operations or used as a garage or a workshop. She is the perfect vessel to have to support your adventure voyages and includes a 50 square metre aft Adventure/Dive centre which can be approached via the swim platform.

The 240-square-metre deck space and the 12-tonne deck crane are perfect for lifting operation is heavy equipment, that includes submarine or large tenders of up to 15m. Blue Ocean is also ready for a stern A-frame installation if desired.

The accommodation includes four cabins for up to eights guests and has a sun deck and the main deck lounge with great views. There is a crew of 7 onboard with additional accommodation for 4 staff, pilots, security or guides.

Top speed is over 20 knots and she has a reduced draft of 3m (10ft) suitable for cruising in shallower waters, such as the Bahamas. The vessel has a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots.
