BLACK PEARL Oceanco | From EUR€ 830,000 /wk
The luxury sailing yacht BLACK PEARL (formerly PROJECT SOLAR) is a 105.00-metre (344' 6") superyacht built by Oceanco in 2018, ranking amongst the world's largest sailing vessels. Constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, her striking design represents a collaboration between Oceanco, Nuvolari-Lenard, and naval architects Dykstra Naval Architects.
The yacht's distinctive exterior styling and interiors are the work of Nuvolari-Lenard, with interior design specifically overseen by Valentina Zannier, Partner and Head of Interior Design at the firm. The project benefited from additional expertise provided by French architect Gérard Villate, Ken Freivokh, and BMT Nigel Gee, all contributing to the vessel's final aesthetic and performance characteristics.
NOTABLE FEATURES:
- World's third-largest sailing yacht
- Two spa pools
- Extensive outdoor living spaces
- Revolutionary DynaRig sailing system
- Maximum speed of 17.5 knots under power (sustainable cruising speed under sail varies with conditions)
BLACK PEARL features three distinctive masts that represent an evolution of the DynaRig system first developed for S/Y MALTESE FALCON. The design incorporates three portholes along the main deck bulwarks and a flowing superstructure that creates an elegant arc from the sundeck hardtop to the main deck aft.
Built to Lloyd's Registry standards, BLACK PEARL boasts a total interior volume of 2,700 GT. The three rotating carbon fibre masts enable the yacht to harness wind power with exceptional efficiency whilst maintaining the aesthetic appeal of a traditional sailing vessel.

BLACK PEARL Enquiry
"A shipyard sells a yacht and after the warranty period has concluded, often the client and yacht are forgotten. If you look at Oceanco, we see the client as a client for a lifetime. We take care of all of them, even if he has a 25 year old Oceanco." - Dr Mohammed Al Barwani, Oceanco Chairman, a world-class builder of custom superyachts in the 80–140 meters range: "We pride ourselves in integrating fine old world dutch craftmanship with sophisticated new world know-how and TOMORROW’S TECHNOLOGY. To our craftsmen, PERFECTION is a point of principle. We encourage a philosophy whereby each individual feels personally responsible for the quality of the entire yacht."
