Over 600 vessels will be in attendance but of the hundreds of superyachts, only 5 are above 40m/131ft and were launched in 2017. These are the latest and greatest luxury yachts in attendance at the Cannes Yachting Festival:

Andiamo – Baglietto

48m/157ft motor yacht ANDIAMO from Baglietto has the interior and exterior styling of Francesco Paszkowski Design in collaboration with Margherita Casprini for a cohesive appearance inside and out. Designed as a family yacht for a Mexican owner, superyacht ANDIAMO contains a cinema room, an infinity pool with waterfall and a large beach club, for which the tender garage was moved forward to create greater space.

Her truly lavish interiors are comprised of onyx and lacquered ebony and the central staircase is made of leather and steel. Spotted cruising in the Mediterranean over the summer, she will make her public debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival and will attend the Monaco Yacht Show at the end of September.

Willow – Benetti

The latest addition to the Veloce 140 series, 42m/138ft WILLOW is another exceptional motor yacht from Benetti with the exterior designed by Redman Whiteley Dixon while her glittering white internal living spaces are the work of Andrea Longinotti. Abstract artwork draws the eye through the minimalist contemporary design, where guests’ comfort is paramount.

Luxury yacht WILLOW has a beach club for relaxation beside the water, or guests have the choice of a great selection of water toys aboard this Approved RYA Water Sports Centre.

“…an important landmark in the company’s evolution.”

Created to appeal to all ages, the facilities are designed for both relaxation and entertainment with a balance between interior and exterior spaces: The sundeck accommodates a large spa pool and a bar with a lounge area for all-day outdoor living, while the lower deck is home to an extensive beach club as well as a gym and dive centre.

Mangusta 42 – Overmarine

Designed by Alberto Mancini and launched in April, the Mangusta 42 represents Overmarine‘s continued commitment to performance and unparalleled comfort. Among the amenities is a bow swimming pool with an infinity-effect waterfall, with two separate sunpads that dip down towards the waterline.  The glazed bottom of the pool forms the skylight to the Master suite below for optimal illumination that adds a beautiful dappled effect to the interior.

Appearance-wise, floor-to-ceiling windows run the length of the port and starboard sides to create a fluid appearance on both the main deck and the upper deck. As a result, the main salon and skylounge both receive plenty of natural light during the day and guests have uninterrupted views of their destination.

The Mangusta 42 has a range of 4,500 nautical miles when cruising at 11 knots and she has reduced noise and vibrations for a quiet night’s rest for all guests.

Elsea – CCN

50m/164ft all aluminium ELSEA was launched by CCN in April and features the exterior styling talents of Studio Bacigalupo, while Studio Vafiadis took care of the interior decor. She was an innovation for CCN and marked a new era in offering customised luxury yachts to owners interested in performance and interiors that more closely reflected their personality and requirements.

ELSEA is part of the Fuoriserie line of superyachts, and features a sleek white exterior with the power to reach up to 30 knots. The large foredeck is designed for entertaining and the owner requested a top of the line sound system to rival any nightclub’s. The interiors blend art deco with modern trends to create sophisticated lounges for guest relaxation. There are 6 large guest cabins aboard, one of which is a full-beam Master suite.

Luxury Projects shortlisted for IY&A Award 2015 with motor yacht ORNELLA

December 16, 2014

Written by Zuzana Bednarova

design et al are proud to announce the shortlist success of Luxury Projects in the 5th Annual International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2015, with motor yacht Ornella (ex Jade Mary). Appointed directly by the young Owner of the Ornella superyacht and thanks to his trust, Luxury Projects (LP) Team had a real chance to change the complete mood and style of the yacht during the whole refit process.

Design and use of innovative materials were the focus points that allowed LP to fulfill the Owner’s requests and refresh all the interiors of the Ornella yacht achieving soft and relaxing atmospheres to be lived in. Avoiding the standard shiny leathers generally used on side and front panels of an open-yacht’s main salon, LP Designers carried out research into different finishes. The final result was that custom-made wall papers were used for all the vertical panels in the Salon, but also in different tactile finishes in the staircase and the forward TV lounge. There is an amazing custom-made silky-bamboo soft carpet for all of the maindeck and the “big eye”, a silky plissé effect custom-made lamp, is the masterpiece of the salon. In the VIP cabin, the new concept of the headboards is the best expression of material and custom designed pieces covering the whole wall behind the bed.

The soft and warm colours of the exterior dominated the rest of the design; all intended to create a novel, sleek look for the yacht. As per the Owner’s request, the interior is largely white-creamy nuances with some little colours touches of beige/brown and old pink.

The refit gave the whole luxury yacht Ornella (ex Jade Mary) a new tactile finish from the use of differing textures to the leathers and fabrics, creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. One of the major tasks for the Designers was to successfully marry the existing wood with the innovative aforementioned materials.

In any areas the contrast between light and dark dominates: in the spacious salon on the main deck as well as in the dining room on the upper deck, in the Owner’s Suite as well as in the five Guests’ Cabins, the light colour of the oak wood opposes to the dark colour of the wengé wood and the neutral tones of the fabric and upholstering materials are wisely brightened up by isolated touches of more intense colors, giving the whole space the right strength.

Codecasa Shipyards are thrilled to announce the recent launching of the all-new 50m motor yacht Framura 3. The brand-new superyacht Framura 3 is going to become the flagship of the Codecasa Sport series, that already comprises the CODECASA 35s, the CODECASA 41s as well as the CODECASA 45s.

The launching took place last Saturday, June 22nd, 2013 at 11.00 am at the new Codecasa production facility in the Darsena dei Navicelli in Pisa, in the presence of the Owning Company Representatives and few selected Guests.

The new CODECASA 50s yacht Framura 3, the delivery of which is scheduled for the forthcoming month of July, was built following a project by Prof. Andrea Bacigalupo.

The Interiors were instead signed by Anna Maria and Franco Della Role, who for two years have been closely co-operating with the Owner’s personal Interior Designer.

The new motor yacht Framura 3 seems to be an excellent synthesis of opposites, both from the technical and architectonic point of view.

The exteriors have solid and aggressive and yet light and sinuous lines. The remarkable technical performances and the top speed of 28 knots, assured by the 3 MTU 16V 2000 M94 marine engines, 2600 HP each, coupled with two water jets and one booster by Kamewa, match with the absolute comfort thanks to a SHIP DYNAMICS gyroscopic zero speed stabilizer system.

The Interiors are very airy and bright and they are featured by simple geometry combined with precious materials. All lines are clean and essential thanks to the deletion of any superfluous details, without losing anyway their richness and refinement.
