MCC announces sale of 46m motor yacht QING (ex MAZU)

December 13, 2013

Measuring 46 meters in length, motor yacht QING (ex MAZU), representing the second yacht of MCC’s Marco Polo Transocean Explorer series, has been sold. Albrecht Buchner from the Maritime Concept and Construction (MCC) is guiding the owner of superyacht QING through the process of a smooth hand-over.

MCC is proud of the innovative breakthroughs they established in the expedition yacht sector of the market. Their original 45/46-meter yachts, designed to be under 500GT, have proven to be safe, reliable and extremely fuel-efficient. The owners of luxury yacht DOROTHEA III (ex MARCO POLO) have logged over 70,000 nautical miles since they purchased the yacht in 2011.

MCC stands at the ready to build the next evolution of its 46-meter series and has complete design/ engineering plans for a 38-meter explorer yacht as well.

The prestigious luxury yacht designer, Ron Holland, has released some photos of motor yacht MAZU, displayed at this year’s Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show. Launched by the Chinese shipyard Cheoy Lee in 2010, the 46-metre superyacht Mazu (also Matsu) represents the second vessel in the Marco Polo series, featuring design, naval architecture, as well as concept by MCC, based on the lines by Ron Holland.

Luxury yacht Mazu (in Chinese means ‘mother ancestor’) boasts lovely, Macassar Ebony interiors by KCA International, with decoration by Sylvia Bolton. She features a deep red hull and is run by twin Caterpillar propulsion engines, one main and one auxiliary. Mazu has a cruising range of 7000nm at 11 knots and 3300nm at 13 knots.

Launched by the Chinese shipyard Cheoy Lee in late 2010, the 46-metre motor yacht Mazu is the second luxury vessel in the successful Marco Polo series. With design, naval architecture and concept by MCC, based on the lines by world renowned Ron Holland for the Marco Polo series, superyacht Mazu  features a beautiful, Macassar Ebony interior by KCA International with decoration by Sylvia Bolton. She made her premiere at the recent Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.

A total number of 10 guests can find the utmost in luxury aboard the 46m superyacht Mazu and she can house up to 14 crew.

Ron Holland visits the latest Marco Polo Series luxury yacht MAZU at the 2012 FLIBS

The renowned designer, Ron Holland and Principal Designer/Manager of Ron Holland’s Kinsale studio in Ireland, Rob Doyle, both had a chance to visit the magnificent 46-metre Cheoy Lee motor yacht Mazu during this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). Boasting a deep red hull, superyacht Mazu is the latest Marco Polo series vessel, designed by MCC based on the lines by Ron Holland for the Marco Polo Series.  She was one of the stand-out yachts on show this year.

FLIBS 2012: Three new Cheoy Lee yacht models a great success

Despite the presence of Hurricane Sandy, the well known Chinese shipyard, Cheoy Lee, enjoyed this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). The event was a premiere for three new models, including the Alpha 76 Flybridge yacht, motor yacht Bravo 88 as well as the Explorer Series 151’ superyacht Mazu. Moreover, there was the second hull of the Alpha 76 Express yacht on display.

Ron Holland attended the 2012 Lauderdale International Boat Show, which took place last month. During the event, he had a possibility to visit the Derektor Shipyards to see the Cheoy Lee motor yacht Dorothea III . The 45-metre superyacht Dorothea III was being prepared for another Pacific Crossing.

Now under new ownership, the 45m luxury yacht Dorothea III is the sister ship to superyacht Mazu, which made her debut at this year’s Fort Lauderdale show.

Bravo 88′ superyacht and Alpha 76′ Flybridge Express yacht by Cheoy Lee loaded and delivered to Palm Beach

It was a very exciting day for the Chinese builder, Cheoy Lee, when the company loaded its Bravo 88′ superyacht (hull 5018) as well as Alpha 76′ Flybridge Express yacht (hull 5033) aboard a ship for delivery to the Port of Palm Beach. 40 days and 10,000 miles later Bravo 88′ and Alpha 76′ Flybridge Express yachts were successfully offloaded.

Motor yacht Bravo 88′ and Alpha 76′ Flybridge Express yacht will now be both prepared to be exhibited at the upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, along with two other magnificent vessels by Cheoy Lee, including the Alpha 76′ Express yacht as well as the 151′ Marco Polo superyacht Mazu.

Cheoy Lee will be exhibiting at the next Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, running from October 25 to 29. The company will be located on the face dock, Slips 6A, 6B abd 6C. Featured new luxury vessels comprise Alpha 76 Express yacht, Alpha 76 Flybridge Express yacht, motor yacht Bravo 88 as well as the 151′ Marco Polo superyacht MAZU.

The Alpha express series hull and exterior lines are designed by the well known Michael Peters design group while the interior design has been entrusted to the competent Luiz de Basto. The line comprises of a 76 Express with three staterooms and galley on the lower deck and a beautifully styled atrium helm and lounge on the upper deck.

The 76 yacht is also available in a fly bridge configuration featuring upper and lower helms in a three stateroom with galley up layout. Each of these yachts are a new fresh approach to their type with excellent accommodation and lounge area with top speeds exceeding 36 knots. Soon to come in line in the Alpha series from the same designers is a four stateroom sport bridge 87 Express Sport to debut at the 2013 FLIBS.

While Cheoy Lee has been extremely busy with the creation of the Alpha series they also were as busy with the new 88′ Bravo yacht, an all new Michael Burvenich design with an incredible interior designed by the talented Sylvia Bolton who also created the interior styling of the very well received 78 Bravo. The 88 is an open bridge, dual station, four stateroom arrangement with two staterooms in crew and a top speed of over 27 knots.

151′ Marco Polo MAZU

Last but not least is the 46-metre motor yacht Mazu. She is a Marco polo series expedition yacht, designed by MCC to the lines of  the well known Ron Holland design group for Marco Polo Series. Sophisticated in concept, design and engineering, Mazu is capable of extreme range while offering the height of luxury and stability at sea.

Luxury yacht Mazu offers a very private owners suite complete with a lounge office and outside sundeck, she is also equipped with a gymnasium and media room. Guests reside in three well appointed staterooms on the lower level with crew accommodations forward, inclusive of crew lounge and full laundry facilities.

The Chinese shipyard, Cheoy Lee, has announced its presence at the next Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, running from October 25 to 29. The company will be located at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center on F Dock Slips 6A, 6B and 6C. There will be 4 new models on display, including the 151′ Marco Polo series superyacht Mazu, the Bravo 88 motor yacht Lauderdale Bound, Alpha 76 Express yacht, as well as the Alpha 76 Flybridge Express yacht Hull 5033.
