Doyle Sails Palma Announce Partnership with Superyacht Sailmaker Quinten Houry

The ten year anniversary of the Doyle loft in Palma is imminent and to celebrate this landmark, the owners Russell Thom and Fiona Bruce are delighted to announce a new partnership with the sailmaking superyacht expert, Quinten Houry (Quinny).

Quinny is to move from his role at Doyle in New Zealand as Special Projects Manager and will be joining Doyle Palma to head up the Superyacht Sales Department. His remit is to further advance Doyle’s reputation for supplying state of the art sails to superyachts in Europe.

He has been in the sailmaking industry for the past 20 years originally with some of the leading lofts in Europe and now having worked with Doyle lofts for the last 10 years his name is synonymous with the brand, spending the last 6 years with Doyle in Auckland. His vast knowledge and depth of experience in both design and engineering of superyacht sails make him the ideal new partner to work alongside the team in the Palma loft. Recently, he has been working hands on with projects such as the new sailing yacht Kokomo and famous superyachts Red Dragon, Bristolian II and Bliss.

Quinny’s new objectives include the expansion of Doyle’s superyacht activities in Europe, at the same time widening customer service. He will also increase awareness of Doyle’s in-house product, STRATIS™.

Doyle New Zealand has recently undergone a huge expansion, with the opening of a new custom factory in Auckland to produce their exclusive STRATIS™ membrane sails. The new alliance will increase product support considerably in Europe, allowing for Doyle’s continued expansion.
