DMCA receives recognition for its efforts in promoting Dubai’s position as a key destination for industry leaders

Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), the government authority responsible for regulation, coordination and supervision of all aspects of the maritime sector in the breath-taking Middle East yacht holiday destination – Dubai, has recently hosted his excellency Mr Muraleedharan K, Deputy Consul General of India in Dubai, in its headquarter office in Dubai. The official paid the Authority a visit to mainly discuss future maritime cooperation as well as opportunities to further strengthen their strong partnership.

During the meeting, both parties agreed to establish and maintain an effective channel of communication for better and faster coordination. They also reached mutual understanding with regard to addressing crew issues and other matters relating to Dubai’s anchorage regulations.  The visit also gave the Indian government official an opportunity to express his gratitude to the DMCA for the high-level services it extends to Indian vessels and their crewmembers in Dubai waters.

His excellency Mr Muraleedharan K said: “My visit to DMCA resulted in meaningful and productive discussions between me and its representatives. We are able to establish a more dynamic relationship following our meeting. I laud the Authority for their strategic initiatives to create a safe and sustainable maritime environment in Dubai. Through DMCA’s efforts, the local maritime sector is able to effectively respond to market changes and emerging regional and international trends. DMCA’s hard work is indeed worth emulating.”

For his part, Ali Al Daboos, Executive Director of Operations, DMCA, said: “Mr. Muraleedharan K’s visit to our office strongly symbolizes the continuing mutual support between us. We had a fruitful meeting in which we were able to tackle emerging opportunities as well as challenges in the local maritime sector. We are satisfied with the results of our meeting and we remain confident that it would lead to an even stronger cooperation between us. DMCA would like to assure him that it remains fully committed to providing assistance to all Indian vessels operating in the Emirate. We welcome his visit and we hope to hold continuous dialogues with him about how we can further bring our partnership to the next level.”
