Stella Maris Yachting, a yacht management company providing through-life support to owners of motor and sailing yachts, is proud to announce the establishment of a new base in MDL’s Sant Carles Marina, a lovely Spain yacht charter destination. The company has thus further expanded its network of bases in Europe, which presently comprises MDL’s Shamrock Quay in Southampton, as well as Marina di Ragusa in Italy.

Half way between Valencia and Barcelona, and on the mainland directly facing Mallorca, just 105nm away, Sant Carles is very centrally located for owners looking for care for their yachts in the Mediterranean, whether for winter berthing, guardianage or general maintenance.

“By setting up the facility in Sant Carles, we are building on our successful model in Sicily,” explains SMY Director, James Miller. “Like Shamrock Quay, Sant Carles Marina is also operated by MDL Marinas with whom we have a very good relationship.”

Miller adds “By extending this relationship we are bringing benefits to our Stella Maris Yacht Club members, the owners with whom we have ongoing relationships, through a competitive support package at this gem of a marina in the safe setting of the lagoon within the Ebro Delta. The sheltered location and excellent boatyard facilities make it an ideal location to winter a yacht. Our specialist team will be working with local approved contractors to look after members’ yachts at this excellent yard, where there is a 75 ton lift.”

Dean Smith, Operations and Marketing Director at Europe’s leading marina operator, MDL Marinas, commented: “We are very excited for Stella Maris Yachting and hope their new base in Spain will flourish. At MDL, we work with our tenants to identify opportunities to help them achieve their ambitions for growth, both in the UK and at our marinas in the Mediterranean. It’s important to us that we are providing our tenants with the support they need to expand their operations.”

There will be a segregated Stella Maris Yacht Club pontoon, and a Stella Maris Yacht Club organiser on site to cater for yachts and owners. The facilities of the Marina are excellent, with members’ lounge and swimming pool, making it a great location as a base for cruising the Spanish coast, the Balearics and the wider Mediterranean.

Stella Maris Yachting, whose head office and 8000 sq ft undercover facility is based in MDL Shamrock Quay, Southampton, provides owners with the capability to operate their yachts worldwide through membership of the Stella Maris Yacht Club.

This will include initial requirements discussions and purchase advice and presenting purchase options to the client, complete refit packages using SMY’s in-house experienced team of technicians and project managers, owner’s representative functions for large build/refit projects, operational training and in-service engineering, logistics and medical support and brokerage preparation prior to sale.
