Shipyard Tours
The World Superyacht Awards 2014 Event Partners, a prestigious group of five of the world’s leading shipyards based in the Netherlands, are pleased to offer tours of their impressive shipyard facilities as well as a generous hospitality programme on the days surrounding the gala evening. Yard tours will run concurrently on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 May, 2014.

Welcome Cocktail
On Friday 2 May, all guests attending the gala evening are invited to enjoy welcome drinks at the historic Westerkerk, a beautiful 17th-century Protestant church and the largest of its kind in the Netherlands. Rembrandt van Rijn is buried in the Westerkerk, as are several other famous Dutch artists. Anne Frank was soothed by the chimes of the church’s clock tower while in hiding and mentioned it several times in her famous diary. Former Queen Beatrix was also married there back in 1966.

Presenting van Gogh’s Relievos
The Van Gogh Museum is the first museum in the world to offer you the opportunity to acquire your own limited, certified ‘van Gogh’. Relievos are a stringently calibrated and expertly verified recreation of a van Gogh masterpiece that bring to life his bold colours and rugged brushstrokes with astounding accuracy. At the Welcome Cocktail, a collection of Relievos, including an exclusive premier viewing of ‘Visser Boten’ (pictured right), will be revealed by Vincent Willem van Gogh, great grandson of Theo van Gogh, the brother of the famous painter who is now ambassador to the Van Gogh Museum.

A Diamond Surprise with Gassan Diamonds
Luxury Dutch family-owned jeweller Gassan Diamonds will also add some sparkle to the evening. When guests arrive at the Welcome Cocktail, they will be offered a glass of champagne where it is not only the champagne that sparkles! In each glass will be a little shiny stone – one or more of which will be a real, brilliant cut diamond. Gassan diamond experts will check each glass to find out which lucky guest has won this little treasure!

Spyker Factory Tours
Spyker, the exclusive Dutch supercar manufacturer based in Zeewolde, is pleased to welcome guests of the World Superyacht Awards to their facilities on Saturday 3 May. Since 2000, Spyker has been building exclusive sportscars such as the C8 Spyder, C8 Laviolette and the C8 Aileron. 2013 saw the resurgence of Spyker with the introduction of an all new Spyker B6 Venator Concept. Guests attending the Spyker tours will have the unique opportunity to see how the cars are built and enjoy a delicious lunch.

Gassan “Special Brilliant Tours”
Gassan Diamonds are delighted to host guests of the World Superyacht Awards for tours of their historic diamond factory. After a champagne and petit-four reception, guests will witness expert craftsmen at work in a private polishing area allowing the opportunity to discover the traditions of diamond cutting, the history of Gassan Diamonds and how a rough diamond is cut and polished into a dazzling brilliant.

Guests will visit the Choices by DL flagship store and VIP showroom, with the opportunity to try on pieces from an extensive watch and jewellery collection.

Please note that all activities are open only to guests of the World Superyacht Awards who have a valid ticket for the gala evening. All activities are subject to availability and application forms can be downloaded on the World Superyacht Awards website.
