America-based luxury yacht builder Westport has revised the look of its flagship 50m/164ft motor yacht, adding a beach club with a bar and dayhead that extends the design by 2m/6.6ft to create the WESTPORT 52.

In recent years the shipyard has updated a number of its designs to appeal to modern trends, such as the lower deck aft being used as a guest space instead of being reserved for the tenders and water toys, and more convertible spaces as well as fold-down terraces. The 38-metre superyacht WESTPORT 125 resulted from this process.

The exterior styling for the WESTPORT 52 comes from Gregory C. Marshall and outdoor amenities include a large swim platform to provide an indoor/outdoor relaxation area in conjunction with the beach club, a helipad and a sundeck Jacuzzi. Storage for the Scuba diving equipment, Jet skis and Seabobs is placed beneath the sunbeds on the foredeck.

The tenders and toys are to port and starboard of the beach club, and once launched the free space in addition to the fold-down side terraces further increases the area available to guests beside the water.

Inside, different layouts are available to suit Owner interests and preferences, and as a result, there are different configurations for the formal dining area and salons.

The accommodation sleeps a maximum of 12 guests in up to six cabins depending on what layout the Owner chooses. A guest cabin can be placed on the bridge deck either as a permanent cabin or as a convertible space with a Pullman berth. Similarly to the old layout, the Master suite of the WESTPORT 52 is placed on the main deck forward and comes with an office, plenty of wardrobe space with a walk-in dressing room, his-and-hers bathrooms and a fold-down port-side terrace.

The crew are accommodated on the lower deck forward in five double cabins, plus a mess and laundry facilities. Meanwhile, the Captain’s cabin is situated on the upper deck along with the office and forward helm station.

The engines are currently being finalised and Westport expects their latest flagship to reach a top speed of 22 knots, a cruising speed of 16-18 knots and an economical speed of 10 knots, drawing from a fuel capacity of 69,650 litres with an additional 3,800 litres reserved for the helicopter.

Once completed, the first WESTPORT 52 luxury yacht will be ready for delivery in summer 2021.
