The Hainan Rendez-Vous 2013 yacht show and lifestyle exhibition at Visun Marina will start this Saturday, March 30th, and will last until Tuesday, April 2nd. The event’s business jet static display will be held at the new VIP Terminal at Sanya Phoenix International Airport, on March 31st and April 1st. Organisers say that they have now finalised the 2013 show’s full program of social as well as cultural activities.
Highlights of the show will include Chopard’s gala dinner at the Coral Bay Ballroom inside Mandarin Oriental Hotel on April 1st. Guests will enjoy performances by the charismatic Hong Kong actress and singer-songwriter Karen Mok and internationally renowned pianist Mr. Xu Zhong, along with a model presentation of Chopard jewellery & watches. Ms Caroline Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard, will also attend the gala, which will be followed by a night party at the hotel’s restaurant Fresh.
The celebrated Chopard jewellery and watches on exhibit at this year’s Hainan Rendez-Vous will include an exceedingly rare and precious 31.32 carat chameleon diamond ring. The Chopard High Jewellery Collection & classic Chopard watch & jewellery collections will be housed in an exclusive store at Mandarin Oriental Sanya, and on display in a separate booth in Visun Royal Yacht Club. In the booth, besides exhibiting the chameleon diamond ring, a Chopard jewellery designer from Geneva will design jewellery pieces on site for guests according to their preference.

Show sponsor Pernod Ricard will be holding daily tastings, lunches and dinners that are open only to members of the group’s exclusive Le Cercle club and other lucky individuals who receive invitations. Those with interest in the Le Cercle club and its activities can learn more at the sponsor’s booth near the entrance of the Visun Royal Yacht Club Hotel.
A gala dinner hosted by supercar maker McLaren, which is launching its brand in China at Hainan Rendez-Vous 2013, will be another highlight of the show. Hainan Rendez-Vous organisers along with Legacy, China’s premier auto magazine, are also hosting a separate gala dinner for members of China’s supercar owner clubs and other automobile enthusiasts at the MGM Grand Sanya on March 31st.
At the marina, crowds will be excited to see ships leaving and returning continuously throughout each day as yacht makers launch prospective customers out on sea trials. Numerous cocktail parties and press conferences will be taking place on the piers and in yacht maker’s exhibition booths. Latitude Café by Mandarin Oriental, Sanya, will again be a center of mingling and conversation.
A number of wine tastings and conferences will be held in the show’s French Pavilion, and the Jazz in Hainan concerts will energize the show atmosphere with live jazz from 4-6pm on March 31st, April 1st and April 2nd.
A lush “Jardin D’Art” awaits visitors to this year’s Art in Hainan exhibition inside the Visun Royal Yacht Club Hotel. Curated by Ms. Song Xianjun of the Art Labor Gallery in Shanghai, the exhibit features a collection of works depicting gardens. Ms. Song will be giving morning and afternoon talks each day in which she shares insights into the pieces, and tastings of Ogier wines will also take place within the gallery each afternoon from 4:30-6pm.
Of course, each evening of Hainan Rendez-Vous will see a number of parties taking place around town, the most anticipated of them perhaps being the Lacoste pool party on March 31st. On April 1st the marina fairgrounds and yacht show will stay open until 10pm so that guests can enjoy a true Riviera evening by the water.
