The Genoa Charter Yacht Show

There are some impressive yachts on display at the 2010 MYBA Genoa Yacht Show. There are some of star attractions and the superyacht crew will be trying to impress yacht charter brokers from around the world. Three or four larger superyachts in particular stand out.  They are new large motor yachts over 60m in length at the Genoa MYBA Yacht Charter Show.  These include the yacht CLOUD NINE at 60m, the first Icon Yachts superyacht called ICON at just over 62m in length and Benetti’s Yacht BISTANGO at 62.0 and last but not least the new Feadship 65m superyacht TRIDENT.

Motor Yacht CLOUD 9
Motor yacht Cloud 9 heralded the beginning of a new range of steel displacement motor yachts by CMN yachts of France. The CMN Line 60 (60,00m or 196′ 10″) which includes yachts Cloud 9 and SLIPSTREAM has been created by CMN (Constructions Mecaniques de Normandie) in collaboration with the celebrated yacht designer Andrew Winch.  Superyacht Cloud 9 is one of the significant charter yachts to be launched in 2009 and on display at the Genoa Charter Show 2010.

Superyacht Cloud 9 can be seen as an evolution of the CMN yacht ‘Netanya 8’ yet she has a longer and deeper hull. This produces greater performance at sea but also in enables room for a full height bilge deck under the guest and crew accommodation. The motor yacht sister ship is called SLIPSTREAM.

Superyacht ‘Cloud 9’ can comfortably accommodate up to twelve yacht charter guests. The master full beam duplex suite includes an office, his and her bathrooms, separate dressing rooms and stairs up to a raised private observation lounge giving panoramic views forward. A VIP cabin with a private balcony is also located up on bridge deck. Her Upper Saloon pictured below has limed oak with cream fabrics and blue borders, and doubles as a cinema lounge and opens into the glazed inside / outside upper dining area.

Superyacht CLOUD 9’s main deck features a spacious and sophisticated Entrance Hall with dramatic carved bulkhead finished in oxidised bronze providing a rich backdrop for a glass sculpture framed by the luminous spiral staircase. Dark brown Marron Imperial marble floor is complimented with a softer light Marron Imperial Clair marble matching the soft taupe coloured carpets that are found throughout the yacht. The staircase goes from lower to upper deck.

The yacht was built at the MMGI Shipyard, with the collaboration of the interior designers at Studio A-Lab, the naval architect Mario Grasso of Navirex. The owner also had personal involvement during the build and is very proud of this innovative project.

Superyacht H2OME can be considered as a ‘race yacht’. This unique motor yacht H2OME is one of the few yachts to have a double hull configuration that can be both displacement and planning hull due to the third water jet. Thanks to her narrow and long bottom, the ‘double speed’ hull at 20 knots, allows navigation in displacement speed, for economical and comfortable navigation, whereas the planning hull allows navigation in surfing speed reaching a maximum speed up to 36 knots.

Motor yacht H2OME is constructed from a light Alloy designed to reduce weight and increase speed. Her propulsion is provided by double water jet linked to twin CAT engines with 1.925hp each, allowing an average cruising speed of approximately 17 knots.
