Two years after 1973 classic yacht THE ONE (ex.CARINTHIA VI) was nearly destroyed in a marina fire in Turkey, the 71m/233ft Lurssen motor yacht will be returning to life sporting her original styling after being acquired by an enthusiastic owner.

Launched for Owners Helmut and Heidi Horten more than 45 years ago, she was one of a series of yachts they owned under the name CORINTHIA. In January 2016 a fire at the Marmaris marina caused extensive damage to M/Y THE ONE and adjacent superyacht BARBIE, which was subsequently deemed beyond salvage and scrapped.

When M/Y THE ONE was hauled out of the water at Istanbul at the beginning of 2018 the extent of the damage could be clearly seen: The starboard side of the hull around the foredeck had been deformed by the blaze, the upper deck is all but gone and the main deck forward is little more than a metal skeleton. The mid-to-aft section of luxury yacht THE ONE survived relatively unscathed and the engine room has remained intact.

Once rebuilt, M/Y THE ONE will return to sporting her navy blue classic hull from Jon Bannenberg, with a few modern details added to freshen her appearance.
