AYSS (Association of Yacht Support Services) and Asia Pacific Superyachts Tahiti are pleased to invite superyacht captains and crew to participate in the first PacificNet – Tahiti, which will be held on June 26, 2014. APS Tahiti and AYSS are proud to partner with the Red Cross for the inaugural event, set to take place in the fabulous South Pacific yacht charter destination – Tahiti at Marina Taina in Papeete – the home of Asia Pacific Superyachts Tahiti Ocean Office – from 17h00 to 19h00.

Captains and Crews will have a chance to gain Pacific cruising knowledge and meet visiting Regional AYSS Yacht Agents. The same day and place, Red Cross will have a food and clothing donation bank for all visiting yachts willing to help this organisation assist families in need. Donations will be accepted all day – and may include old and new garments, dry food and non-alcoholic beverages.

A ‘dream world’, Tahiti is often synonymous with paradise and French Polynesia is truly one of the best cruising areas in the Pacific. 250,000 inhabitants with an indisputable reputation for kindness and an easygoing attitude live in 118 islands sprinkled over an area larger than Continental Europe. The location offers thousands of secure and idle anchorages including Nuku Hiva, the largest of the Marquesas and the site of Herman Melville’s novel, Typee.

Papeete, a modern and lively city, boasts of an international marina, large international airport, shipyards, repair facilities and good provisioning amenities. The capitol of Polynesia, with more than 120,000 inhabitants, is the exciting location for PacificNet – Tahiti.

Bora Bora, a real-life model for fictional Bali Hai and neighbouring islands (Huahine, Raiatea and Tahaa), form the most appreciated sailing area of French Polynesia. At the East entrance lay the Marquesas island with Hiva Oa which was the last home of famous artist Paul Gauguin. In between, Rangiroa, Fakarava and other nearby Tuamotu islands are now recognised as world famous diving spots.

Leading the Asia Pacific Superyachts Tahiti team, Etienne Boutin reports his company (established in 1995 as Tahiti Ocean) was the first service company exclusively dedicated to the luxury yacht industry and thus far has served more than 600 motor and sailing yachts over 100ft. Etienne and his APS team and AYSS are looking forward to welcoming guests to PacificNet – Tahiti. Mai Tai cocktails and snacks will be served from 17h00 on during the festive event and Red Cross benefit at the Marina Taina.
