New strategic partnership between UKSA and BlackStar

Today, November 15, 2013, saw UKSA and BlackStar announce a strategic partnership in order to create a global platform for the development of professional crew training across the superyacht sector. The new partnership agreement will also fund further skills training as well as placement opportunities for crew.

Marine charity UKSA provides training across a range of disciplines from basic crew training to Master 3000. As part of the partnership, BlackStar will invest time and resources into the sponsorship and development of the UKSA superyacht cadetship scheme.

Craig Humphreys, Director at BlackStar Wealth Managemnet Ltd, said “Today’s announcement of our partnership with UKSA is a further example of our continuing investment in the yachting industry and of our commitment to providing young people with opportunity to learn and develop further skills.”

Emma Baggett, UKSA Cadetship Manager, said “BlackStar’s funding and support of the cadetship scheme will be instrumental in attracting and retaining high-quality cadets. This is an important step forward in delivering the best possible training and support for UKSA students in the professional yachting industry, and in developing a collaborative approach, which pools expertise and further increases career opportunities for UKSA cadets.”
