Southern Wind Shipyard will proudly attend the 6th edition of the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta, which will take place in the popular Italian yacht charter destination – Porto Cervo, in Sardinia, from June 4 to 8, 2013. The yard will compete in the race with two luxury vessels: the SW94 yacht Windfall, as well as the SW100 superyacht Cape Arrow.

Windfall

SW94 superyacht Windfall by Southern Wind

Sailing yacht Windfall is a performance cruiser of 28 mt, designed by Reichel Pugh and Nauta Design and delivered in the early 2013. Light displacement, aggressive lines combined with modern but functional interiors, make Windfall one of the most representative projects in the racing semi-custom production of Southern Wind Shipyard.

Luxury yacht Windfall is the sister ship of the most famous SW94 yacht Kiboko and she is at her first appearance in the international yachting “jet set”. After a fast maiden voyage of 7200 nm from Cape Town to Genoa, where she reached up to 26.7 kts, Windfall is more than ready to show all her performing potentials in Sardinian beautiful waters.

Windfall yacht will be chartered by a very passionate Italian sailor, who will be surrounded by a high professional crew, among which there will be the ex Luna Rossa skipper Francesco De Angelis and Claudio Celon, who participated in three Olympic Games as well as the French Yann Gouniot, winner of the 2007 America’s Cup on board Alinghi yacht.

Cape Arrow

SW100 sailing yacht Cape Arrow

Superyacht Cape Arrow is the Raised Saloon version of the successful SW 100 project, designed by Farr Yacht Design and Nauta Design. Cape Arrow races in Sardinia after an amazing winter season and a tough transatlantic crossing back to the Mediterranean.

Cape Arrow yacht left the Mare Nostrum in November and participated in the Maxi Transatlantic Race, arriving in the beautiful waters of the Caribbean. She spent the following months sailing over there, doing relaxing and comfortable charters, as well as sporty races, such as the RORC Caribbean 600 Race, the Bucket Race and the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta.

In Virgin Gorda Cape Arrow yacht, brought by top level sailors, made an amazing job and confirmed all her racing qualities winning the second place of the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta. Cape Arrow, winner of the 2012 Southern Wind Trophy, hosted every two year by the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta, will race in Porto Cervo with a high professional crew, as well as with many Southern Wind friends.
