The latest addition to the exhibitor list is US builder Westport who have been constructing vessels since 1964, with a staggering total of over 120 superyachts completed in that period. Sales Vice President Phil Purcell acknowledges the necessity for an Asian presence and has selected the Singapore Yacht Show as the right platform to access this market.

“We are excited about exhibiting at the 2012 edition of the Singapore Yacht Show. Asia is a key focus for Westport as we need to engage with the emerging markets in their early stages. After hearing about this year’s excellent launch event and the apparently outstanding quality of the visitor turnout, we are confident the Singapore Yacht Show will provide us the platform to increase our brand awareness and network with Asia’s Yachting community.”

Distinctive and ultra-modern yacht builder Palmer Johnson is once again exhibiting at the Singapore Yacht Show after a successful 2011 campaign. Russell Morris, Sales and Marketing Director stated: “We were unfortunately not able to bring one of our yachts down to Singapore for the 2011 show, but we most certainly will next year. Even so, we still had a lot of high-quality visitors to our stand leading to some exceptional enquiries,” he said.

Palmer Johnson’s range of sleek yachts starts at 36 metres and goes through to a staggering 82-metre motor yacht PJ World. The majority of their yachts are built in the United States with the notable exception of the 82m World yacht which is currently under construction in Norway.

It is not only international players using the Singapore Yacht Show as a launch-pad into a whole new marketplace of new prospective clients. Veteran Singaporean-based yacht broker Luxury Yachts will return to the 2012 edition to exhibit the Dominator and Marquis brands. Mech Marine, a member of the Superyacht Singapore Association, will also be returning in 2012 to promote their thriving superyacht maintenance business.

At the request of the industry, the range and scale of the show will be extended next year to encompass smaller luxury day yachts, yacht tenders and other motor and sailing craft. Singapore market-leader for luxury yachts is SG Boating who will be representing the English-built Fairline brand as well as the Meridien, Chaparral and Robalo marques.

Tartan Yachts will make its Asian debut at the Singapore Yacht Show with a beautifully crafted yacht from North America. The interior is solid cherry wood and the carbon-fibre mast is designed for short-handed sailing.
