Luxury yacht builder CMN and Bannenberg & Rowell have worked together to produce the luxury superyacht design of the 44m motor yacht Scorpio. With an unmistakeable exterior, superyacht Scorpio is based on the French yard’s 44 metre platform. Facets, chamfers and muscular changes of plane combine to dynamic effect and an almost exoskeletal foredeck structure conceals the crew working area.

Other distinctive elements of the superyacht Scorpio by CMN and Bannenberg & Rowell include the scorpion‐tail mast structure, on the aft centreline of which is a crane for jetski and rescue tender launching. As is customary with all Bannenberg & Rowell work, exterior spaces complement the yacht’s architecture and include dining and a pool.

Interior volumes and footprints of motor yacht Scorpio have been maximised by CMN with smart thinking in relation to engine air requirements and this has allowed Bannenberg & Rowell to offer exceptionally open‐plan living areas on the Main and Upper Decks.

The combined effects of window placement, shape and treatment are very much key to the defining characteristics of M/Y Scorpio’s exterior appearance but also to creating a sense of space, place and ambience which is further enhanced by furniture placement and shaping.

The large windows stretching across the owner’s suite will provide magnificent views out and let vast amounts of light in whilst adding to the yacht’s dynamism. Large sliding doors integrated into the floor to ceiling window design within the main lounge and dining saloon eliminate delineation between the inside and outside aided by the lowered and cutaway bulwarks. The whole package comes under the 500GRT mark with delivery 26 months from order.

The Scorpio design project is CMN and Bannenberg & Rowell’s first Anglo‐French collaboration since the esteemed motor yacht Acajou.
