Pure Superyacht Refit, based in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, has appointed a new Project Manager who will work with the existing team to provide a specialist refit management service for superyachts at locations across Europe.
Pure Superyacht Refit Appoints New Project Manager Ivan Jefferson
The new recruit, Ivan Salas Jefferson, 29, has a wealth of relevant project management experience and related industry expertise, most recently having been a Project Manager for Astilleros de Mallorca shipyard in Palma where he managed refit and repair projects of luxury yachts from 24m to 100 metres in length. Before that, he worked in a variety of maritime roles, based in the Netherlands, where he was involved in project managing many new-build luxury yachts up to 85 metres in length.
Ivan joins the company at a busy time – Pure has recently completed a series of important refit projects and is attracting a lot of new business as a result of its growing reputation and increasing demand for refit and repair work. His new role will see him travelling extensively across Europeas well as further afield, as required, managing Pure’s refit projects for some of the world’s most discerning owners, captains and management companies.
As an experienced sailor, crew member and an Engineer Officer of the Watch, Ivan has completed Merchant Navy training and has travelled extensively through Thailand, Japan, Europe and America. He also has achieved a First-class Masters of Engineering in Naval Architecture from Strathclyde and GlasgowUniversities, and has completed a Postgraduate course in Yacht Design in Spain. Ivan is highly proficient in his native English and Spanish, and also speaks basic Italian and Dutch.

Pure’s team is headed by former professional skipper and project manager Nic Clarke, who himself brings decades of experience of the marine industry. Nic is a veteran of over 20 years at the pinnacle of yacht racing including America’s Cups, Admiral’s Cups, ocean races and a former world champion. Nic is also a qualified engineer. In more recent years Nic has been the premier project manager for an existing management company in Palmaoverseeing refits of various prestigious motor vessels and sailing yachts.
