Oyster Group is creating an operation in Palma, Mallorca to broaden the services provided to its customers.

Commencing September 2011, Philip (Spike) Thompson will help develop the Oyster presence in the Mediterranean to support the 150+ fleet of yachts Oyster has built between 60′ and 100′, together with the large fleet of classic yachts and superyachts, which Oyster’s subsidiary, Southampton Yacht Services, has refitted or rebuilt over the past 30 years. A particular focus will be to recognise the different services needed for yachts run with full-time professional crews from those run by the Owner with family and friends.

The first Oyster Superyacht Sarafin (Oyster 100-01), will arrive in Palma during November 2011 following her recent, successful sea trials.

By early 2012, Oyster’s Palma operation will replicate the established Oyster operations in Newport Rhode Island by providing local brokerage, yacht charter and customer support services and this will enable Oyster to shift its enviable world leading customer services operations closer to its clients through a three location – UK, USA and Mediterranean – network of offices. Working with our representatives in Asia and Sydney we plan to extend this service to Australasia.
