German shipyard Lurssen has released a new concept image of 109m/358ft luxury yacht PROJECT ICECAP, which shows significant differences to the first concept image released in March 2018.

Icecap Lurssen

The superyacht, which was sold earlier this year, now sports a traditional navy blue hull and white superstructure as opposed to the previous grey/blue appearance.

After an extensive reworking of the aft deck section, she now has a helipad and swimming pool on the upper deck, leaving an interior annex on the main deck aft.

The very name of the project along with the inverted bow suggests that she will be capable of exploring arctic regions, and the interior volume of 6,500 GT would ensure that the 20 guests accommodated over 10 en-suite cabins have plenty of on board facilities for long journeys to reach isolated parts of the world.

A diesel-electric propulsion system will be installed along with cutting-edge power storage, energy saving and heating and cooling systems.

Motor yacht PROJECT ICECAP will be constructed from steel and is due for delivery in 2021. Other superyachts currently under construction include the eagerly-awaited PROJECT REDWOOD, which is due for launch in 2019.
