Lewmar has announced that it has equipped the latest luxury sailing yacht ZENITH built in Turkey. Zenith yacht was designed by Dykstra Naval Architects, inspired by the beautiful sailing yacht Windrose, and constructed in Bodrum, Turkey by Ada Turizm.

Lewmar’s Worldwide Custom Sales Director, Hendrik van der Linde, was on hand to witness the launch and commented, “the launch went without a hitch and the boat looks stunning in the water. I’m pleased to say that all the systems worked perfectly from the moment they were commissioned.”

Sailing yacht Zenith chose Lewmar equipment for the vast majority of its systems. Line handling is taken care of with a combination of 88 and 111 sized stainless winches driven by a custom hydraulic power-pack system. Glistening stainless steel hardware was chosen for the various blocks and travellers, together with a twin V10 windlass installation on the bow. Lewmar’s investment in Super Yacht windlasses means that cast stainless parts can be used in place of the solid items commonly found, resulting in drastic weight reductions.

In addition, Lewmar’s mechanical Mamba steering system was specified together with a custom 500 retracting thruster. The combination of the two means that Zenith yacht should be easy to handle in the most extreme of conditions and tightest of spaces.

In the coming days, the rig will be put in place. Navtec rod rigging will ensure ultimate reliability, whilst a selection of Navtec hydraulic cylinders will take care of the necessary tuning to ensure she sails to her optimum at any point of sail.
