Korea International Boat Show 2011

With its 5th anniversary, the Korea International Boat Show 2012 has its goal of satisfying the needs in the water sports industry and will provide its visitors with a wide variety of events and programs.

Some special features and remarks for this year’s Korea International Boat Show:

Completion of the #2 Marina construction and Exhibition area/scale expansion

The fifth Korea International Boat Show has an indoor exhibition area of 11,600㎡ and an ocean exhibition area of 41,660㎡, compared to 11,200㎡ and 20,000㎡, respectively, last year. In addition, construction of the Jeongok Port’s #2 Marina was completed, resulting in large-scaled exhibition of 139 yachts & boats, up by 79 from the previous year. This year, visitors will have chance to enjoy a wide spectrum of yachts & boats from all over the world.

Expansion of overseas networking and Possible MOU with the German Maritime Association

Last year, the Korea International Boat Show joined the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) and the International Federation of Boat Show Organizers (IFBSO) and leveled itself to be a main boat show in Asia. This year, Anthony Rice, the president of the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA), will make his appearance as a main speaker at the Asia Marine Conference 2012 and share some topics (i.e. key conditions for a country to have strong water sports industry, etc.) with the audience. His appearance is clear evidence that the Korea International Boat Show is a worldwide boat show. Furthermore, the Korea International Boat Show will solidify its international networking (i.e. MOU with the German Maritime Association, etc.).

More water sports programs for visitors

This year, visitors will love more diversified water sports programs and events. These programs and events include dinghy yacht sailing, kayak sailing, traditional boat rowing contest, sailboat sailing, beach volleyball game, and so on. In addition, there will be yachts that cruise between the Jeongok Port and Tando Port for the sake of visitors’ convenience. Compared to 2 yachts and 1 ship last year, this year’s show will have 5 cruise boats, 3 power boats and 1 sailboat.

Son Sooik, a chief operation manager of the Korea International Boat Show 2012, said, “We will offer the best diversified programs and events ever for our visitors.”
