One of the keynote speakers setting the scene at Marine13 will be Benjamin Pedley, Head of Investments at UBS Wealth Management Australia. Benjamin was previously at HSBC Private Bank, where he headed Investment Strategy North Asia based in Hong Kong. He will outline relevant societal and economic trends and the likely impacts for business including the marine sector.

Ben is an accomplished communicator having worked at Dow Jones Newswires in Australia and Singapore where his responsibilities included anchoring live broadcasts on CNBC Asia and providing economic analysis for the Wall Street Journal.

Capitalising on the Online World
In line with the Marine13 theme of Boating for the Future, the online world will be a key focus of the conference. Bill Owens will deliver a plenary session looking at what the future online world means for the marine sector. Bill is an independent company director who specializes in technology strategy and risk. His business and technology experience spans four continents.

For 12 years while at PwC (London) he led major telecoms industry restructuring programs across several European countries. Then as a Vice President in a London based boutique technology consultancy he assisted major corporates in North America, Asia and Europe to leverage mobile and broadband technologies for competitive advantage. On returning to Australia he led a rapidly growing broadband company before joining Micropower, a specialist ERP software provider to the Clubs industry, as its CEO.
