The Italian Superyacht Forum (ISF) and Superyacht Captains’ Forum’s (SCF) program has been announced. To take place during the Yachting Aftersales and Refit Exhibition (YARE), the ISF and SCF will run in Viareggio, Italy on February 3, 2015.

The ISF, now in its fifth year offers delegates a morning of intense discussion with top individuals within the Italian superyacht industry. Following its hugely successful launch in 2013, the Superyacht Captains’ Forum provides captains and marine professionals an opportunity for closed-door sessions centred on current trends, concerns and controversies within the superyacht market.

Following a short welcome video from the Italian Authorities and Associations, the Superyacht Group’s Justin Ratcliffe will produce a state of the industry presentation. Utilising facts and figures from The Superyacht Report Annual Report and Global Order Book, this short opening address will set the tone for the day and comment on changes since 2014’s event.

The keynote panel discussion of leading industry executives will address the aftersales, life cycle and warranty issues in Italy. A popular topic at Forums past and a number of other events throughout the years, this discussion will open the floor to Italian based yards that are working hard to rectify complaints and issues surrounding the current aftersales services on offer and whether we can improve and lengthen the warranty periods available.

The afternoon sees the third annual Superyacht Captains’ Forum. Building on the success of last year’s breakout sessions, a selection of intimate workshops will address some of the most pressing topics according to captains, offering a forum of candid discussion to debate and dissect current issues.

• How captains and crew manage a yacht during and post-delivery

• How to handle a VAT customs inspection

• What to look for in an Insurance quote and policy

• What would captains like to change about the world of training?

• How can captains better prepare for a refit period?

• What do captains want from their yacht managers?

• How can captains make their paint systems last longer?

• What lessons can experienced class and flag surveyors teach captains?

The Forum concludes with a dinner, where all delegates can relax, discuss the day’s events and network with fellow attendees.

YARE provides attendees insight into the Italian superyacht market, focusing on the aftersales and refit areas of the industry. This weeklong event includes district tours of Tuscany, B2C networking and networking opportunities with yacht managers, agencies, shipping registers, refit networks and many more.
