An extraordinary yacht charter with a real difference – this is Galapagos Islands explored aboard M/Y Integrity, one of only a few luxury yachts available in this area. A volcanic archipelago and a province of Ecuador, Galapagos is one of the best places in the world for those in love with wildlife and natural environment, where you can “see the natural habitat, just going about their business and “curious” about us humans”. Numerous plant and animal species found here cannot be found elsewhere, offering you a unique experience and plenty of adventure. A place where you can swim with a multitude of frisky sea lions, amazing orcas or catch a glimpse of the Mola-Mola while snorkelling.

Although mesmerising when it comes to its natural beauty, Galapagos is certainly not your usual charter destination. CharterWorld’s senior broker, Amanda Brillante was invited on board Motor Yacht Integrity to first hand experience the beauty and uniqueness of this remarkable place on Earth: “One special treat about a trip to the Galapagos is the ability, or rather necessity, to disconnect and go on a “digital detox”. Without the ability for cellular, internet, or even TV signal, you are forced into a (probably overdue and much-needed) respite from our wired world, to spend time with and enjoy your friends and family, and get lost in the incomparable beauty of your surroundings and sheer magnificence a and diversity mother nature has created.”

“The crew is discrete and very professional. Manuel and Richard, our stewards, were always available to fill our needs, whether greeting us with cold refreshments after hiking and snorkelling or providing beer and popcorn while lounging in the jacuzzi. We enjoyed a wide variety of delicious fare – some products and produce many of us had never had – all while the Chef accommodated guests dietary requirements including vegetarian, lactose free, gluten free, and shellfish allergies. Captain Pedro knows all the islands by heart and it seems we were always anchored in the best spot at each destination. Our Panga drivers were amazing -not only slowly trailing us and providing security while swimming and snorkelling, but also guiding us on daily excursions through mangroves and exploring caves, around rocky cliff faces and outcroppings to see nesting birds, colourful crabs, penguins, and various other flora and fauna “up close and personal”.”

SOME IMPORTANT AND INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT CHARTERING IN GALAPAGOS

The yachts in Galapagos work on fixed itineraries which are submitted to and approved yearly by the government. Guest will be taken onto one of the two general routes: the Eastern Route or the Western Route. Within each route, no two itineraries are the same, in an effort to reduce overcrowding in anchorages at islands and to offer a truly unique experience to the visitors.

“I have seen and experienced more things in a week aboard INTEGRITY than I could hope to in years of travel: Giant tortoises, iguanas (both land and marine), penguins, boobies of all types, pods of orcas, even the elusive Mola-Mola (giant sunfish)! Swimming with sea lions and sharks, sea turtles, stingrays and giant manta rays, hiking across endless expanses of lava and high into a rainforest, enjoying a champagne-spurred salsa party while crossing the equator at sunset – there is nowhere else on earth where you will experience so much in one destination.”
