With the help of Volvo Penta, Cresta Motor Yachts will provide Australasia with its first experience of the all-new IPS – 1200. The 70 Motor Yacht is now set to raise the bar in luxury motor yacht quality and performance. The triple installation offers owners a massive 2700hp of standard pod drive propulsion. “Conservative performance predictions are pointing toward a maximum speed upwards of 40 knots, with a range of 600NM at a cruising speed of 26 Knots” said Gavin Rooney, Regional Application Engineer of Volvo Penta Oceania. The 70 Motor Yacht will also feature Volvo’s highly acclaimed Sport Fish Mode and Digital Positioning System.

From the production yard, Boat One has been successfully removed from the hull mould, with much of the accommodation having been completed inside the mould. The hull and deck join is due to take place within the next few months and the vessel is due to arrive on Australian shores in the final quarter of 2011. Head of Production at Cresta, Peter Newman, has high hopes for Boat One and beyond, saying, “The production team is thrilled with the progress and results thus far. As each day passes and 3D modelling formalises the shape of the vessel, we can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel for Boat One. The forthcoming commencement of Boat Two (70 Open Flybridge), in time for its USA launch in 2012 is also very encouraging.”

More about the Cresta 70 yacht

Cresta’s flagship vessel, the Cresta 70, takes entertainment and boating lifestyle to a whole new level. This state of the art, single level, high performance motor yacht offers benefits on a scale never seen before. Right through from Structure, Engineering, Electrical, Interior and Exterior we have left no stone unturned to provide our owners with flat out luxury. With the easiest of boarding via the hydraulic and semi moulded balcony sized swim platform, no longer will you endure those awkward moments stepping over transoms and bulwarks. Open the twin transom doors and you’ll be greeted with 259 square feet cockpit mezzanine.

The 6 seated removable cockpit table is the perfect setting for afternoon drinks or dinner under the stars. With 2 small steps up the mezzanine deck provides for daytime shade, comfortable lounging, copious refrigeration and a fully moulded BBQ hotplate. The entire cockpit floor is on hydraulic arms for easy engine servicing, as well as deck hatches for quick daytime access. Moving inside the Saloon of the 70 Motor Yacht you’re met with large sumptuous leather lounges and accompanying coffee table. One press of a button will reveal the large LED screen and home theatre system. The dining table can be converted to suit 6 or 8 guests with a safe fold away storage arm.

The galley of the Cresta 70 motor yacht is appointed with leading brand appliances and offers generous storage and refrigeration. The cooktop offers 4 hot plates and is revealed via the sliding bench top, creating a safe cooking environment and bar seating so the chef can be part of the action. Ventilation is subtle and barely noticeable through the reverse cook top ducting system. Alternatively you can open the enormous sliding electric sunroof for extra fresh air and sunlight. The helm area is raised and separated with a small non-structural bulkhead. Its sports car like feel and multi levelled layout is easy to navigate and is fully automated with the latest in marine navigation and touch screen equipment.

Once retiring for the night you’ll move down the safe and wide companionway staircase. The owner will make a turn to the right and into their full beam master stateroom, whilst guests will turn left and find their way into one of the three generous guest staterooms. The Master Stateroom is beautifully appointed and very quiet. With full walk in robe, writing desk, twin lounges and his and hers ensuite you’ll find it hard to leave this space in the morning. His and hers ensuite is connected by a single shower with custom mosaic tiles designs. No longer should guests dread a small bed or a shared bathroom facility, each stateroom has their very own ensuite and comfortable sleeping for two.

The starboard cabin of the Cresta 70 can be converted into twin singles or one double via a clever sliding mechanism. Perfect accommodation for owners and guests with children. Crew quarters are accessed through the cockpit preventing any need to disturb owners and guests. All this equates to a 5 cabin 6 head layout. Bow access is easy via the cockpit moulded steps, (out of sight) grab rail running the entire length of the superstructure. This is a time where you can spend time relaxing on your sun lounge or simply taking in Mother Nature’s beautiful surrounds. The 70 Motor Yachts complies with internationally recognised standards as set out in structure, engineering, electrical, interior and exterior.
