The hull for PROJECT 794 was originally laid in June 2019 when she was initially being constructed by Nobiskrug, however, the shipyard filed for insolvency in April 2021 and PROJECT 794 has since been transferred to Lürssen for completion, where she has received her new name.

Lürssen is known for keeping builds secretive throughout their construction, however, it is known that M/Y CAP D’AIL features an exterior created by Espen Oeino and interiors by Zuretti Interior Design.
