Some of Australia’s largest and most prominent luxury yachts varying in size from 85 feet to 110 feet have started arriving at this year’s Gold Coast International Marine Expo. For the next three days, the 2nd edition of this popular exhibition will host seven superyachts measuring over 85 feet in length.

The superyachts include the 88 foot E88 Skylounge yacht and 110 foot P110 Tri-Deck superyacht from Horizon Motor Yachts, a 100 foot luxury charter boat from Safari Charters, an 82 foot French built yacht and an Italian built 110 foot motor yacht from Geoff Lovett International, and a 90 foot and 92 foot luxury superyacht from Leigh-Smith Cruiser Sales.

Horizon Motor Yachts Australia director, Russell Wright, said the P110 Tri-Deck yacht valued at $9.9 million had just arrived in Australia and would make her Queensland debut at the Gold Coast International Marine Expo.

“This is the biggest new Horizon stock boat that we have ever brought into Australia and I think people will be impressed with her stunning interior, which features granite and marble bathrooms, and an outdoor spa on the top deck,” Mr Wright said.

“The 2012 Gold Coast International Marine Expo will have the largest display of superyachts in excess of 85 feet in any one area, and Horizon Motor Yachts Australia is extremely proud to be a part of this growing annual event.”

Peter Lovett from Geoff Lovett International said they looked forward to showcasing the Italian built 110 foot Code Cassa world cruiser, Casa Bella, and the French built 82 foot Dynamique, The Arrow’.

“The Coda Cassa is a world cruiser and an excellent, traditional, sea worthy vessel.  The Dynamique is very similar to a motor yacht in that she has two engines, which is uncommon in most yachts, and she also has a retractable keel,” Mr Lovett said.

“The Expo is a great show and it is certainly the way of the future. Last year we had six boats on display, this year we will have eight and it is pleasing to see the high number of superyachts that will be on display this year.

“The Expo is the perfect platform to display boats of all sizes and to introduce people to the fun of boating. Geoff Lovett International has operated out of Marina Mirage for the past 25 years and we get a great deal of satisfaction from seeing our customers grow with their boats.  They may start off with a 25 foot vessel and move through to a 45 foot and then a 60 foot as their family grows and their boating enjoyment grows.”

Gold Coast International Marine Expo president, Stephen Milne, said there would be more than 120 boats at the impressive on-water display and hundreds at the on land displays.

“This year we have a significant number of superyachts at the Expo, which is a great testament to the size and calibre of the event,” he said.

“We are extremely proud of the Expo’s success in such a short time and thank our loyal supporters, including Horizon Motor Yachts Australia and Geoff Lovett International who are founding exhibitors.”

The second annual Gold Coast International Marine Expo will be held on November 2, 3 and 4 from 9am to 5pm with free entry and free parking.  The not-for-profit, family event run by the Gold Coast marine industry features an exciting line-up of entertainment, workshops, seminars, factory tours and interactive displays.  There will be more than 200 leading marine brands displayed over a 2.5 kilometre circuit and hundreds of boats on display from kayaks to superyachts and everything in between.
