Tim Gilding Marine Design (TGMD) is proud to present its latest 8m superyacht tender/cruiser that takes inspiration from classic Chris Craft and Riva runabouts. Taking stylistic inspiration from the old, while using modern technology as well as materials, TGMD has created a uniquely modernised classic cruiser.

Shown in these renderings is the day-cruiser variant. The sunpad can be replaced with a recessed seating area for either three or six to make this a versatile superyacht tender. Polished timber decking over high-gloss painted topsides with a large amount of tumblehome in the aft sections presents a distinct barrel-back style, reminiscent of the luxurious cruisers of the mid-20th Century.

Proposed construction is in foam-core carbon laminate, meaning overall weight is kept low, improving overall handling and performance. To further aid in keeping weight down, a thin laminate of teak, bleached ash, and mahogany will clad the deck and will be highly polished in clear epoxy to enhance the visual impact of the contrasting woods.

The deep-vee hull with fine entry and small amounts of hollow in the sections provides a soft and predictable ride, while the plumb bow aids in breaking through choppy seas. Power comes from a single inboard 300hp Mercruiser 5.7 Horizon DTS ECT, resulting in an estimated top speed in excess of 35 knots.
