Chief Naval Architect at Fairlie Yachts, Paul Spooner, has created a new concept of a 80-foot classic retro-look houseboat for a customer from Britain with an exclusive London mooring. The design brief of the 80ft Fairlie Yachts houseboat included a creation of maximum liveable space within the planning regulations and a classic maritime feel.

Paul’s 80ft luxury houseboat design has a paddle steamer meets gentleman’s motor yacht feel to it and offers four bedrooms, large living/dining/kitchen space, study, laundry and al fresco dining area.

The top deck also boasts a sunken glass deck conservatory which doubles as a skylight to bring maximum light to the areas below.

Fairlie Yachts were initially commissioned to produce conceptual designs, and have now been instructed to produce structural drawings. It is expected that the steel houseboat will be constructed in the South of England.
